We are seeking a skilled Engineer II, Electrical Engineering, to join our team, focusing on the design, development, and troubleshooting of electrical circuits for semiconductor tools. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and efficacy of our electrical systems, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to create cohesive tool architectures.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot electrical circuits related to semiconductor tools
- Ensuring safety is a priority in design and operation, utilizing safety-rated devices
- Research and select components that meet tool requirements
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design unified tool architecture
- Create schematic and cable designs
- Adhere to the company's Engineering Change Order (ECO) process
- Review documents meticulously, adapt to changes, handle tasks independently, and manage time effectively
- Work closely with designers and drafters to generate detailed documentation
- Understanding of pneumatics and PCB design is advantageous
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
- Proven experience in electrical circuit design and troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge of safety standards and practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in technical writing
- Familiarity with recognized safety and machinery standards such as NEC, NFPA 79, UL 508A, FM 4910, ISO 13849, EN/IEC 60204-1 & -33, SEMI specifications is a plus
- Extensive Experience with AutoCAD (Cable Drawing and Schematic)
- Experience in Design/Component selection

- Drive innovative product development from conceptualization to manufacturing
- Utilize creative problem solving skills to lead ideation of new product architectural concepts for subsystem and system level designs
- Construct and analyze high fidelity proof-of-concept prototypes
- Perform detailed mechanical analysis to ensure proper function through FEA, tolerance analysis, testing, and other exploratory means

What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- L9: Minimum 12 years of product design experience in high-end consumer electronic products
- Experience providing technical leadership for teams of 2-5 mechanical engineers
- Proficiency with Creo or similar 3D CAD software
- Knowledge in the design of plastic injection molded, stamped metal, die-cast, and machined parts
- Familiarity with adhesives and bonded joint design
- Experience designing for a high level of dust/water ingress protection
- Experience designing thermal management solutions for dissipating heat from electronics
- Experience with PCB/PCBA flex circuit and other electro-mechanical integration
- Strong DFM/DFA skills, with emphasis on part/assembly tolerance management, to ensure robust designs for high volume manufacturing
- Experience collaborating with external consultants, vendors and manufacturers, including willingness to travel internationally
- Ability to interpret product requirements and translate into quantifiable engineering deliverables
- Experience preserving Industrial Design and UX intent in mechanical design implementation
- Effective communication and strong presentation skills
- Ability to balance and prioritize conflicting design constraints through analysis, testing, and creativity
- Collaboration with peers in a candid cross-functional team culture

Your Impact
As a Senior member of the TASER Electrical Engineering team, you will drive and engage in innovative hands-on design, development, and testing of cutting-edge electronics that are integral to Axon TASER Products. You will apply strong technical expertise and sound engineering judgment to deliver robust, high-quality designs that meet rigorous product and regulatory requirements. In this role, you will own substantial portions of circuit and subsystem designs, support system-level architecture decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional partners across product engineering, firmware, new product introduction, manufacturing, and quality teams. You will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to raising the technical bar within the team while continuing to grow your own technical leadership capabilities. Your Day-to-Day
- Research, propose, and develop innovative, industry-leading circuit designs for products such as TASER energy weapons, TASER-enabled devices, wirelessly connected TASER products, and related accessories
- Design, develop, and verify system circuitry and hardware aligned with project objectives and requirements
- Using OrCAD Schematic tools, design embedded Mixed-Signal electronic circuitry that integrates high voltage power supply circuitry, microcontrollers, flashlight/indication/display circuitry and drivers, memory devices (FLASH/EEPROM), switch-mode and linear power supplies, batteries, data interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, USB), RF transceivers, electromechanical transducers, and other discrete digital and analog components
- Collaborate with PCB designers to guide layout implementation and review designs for signal integrity, power integrity, manufacturability, and reliability using Cadence layout tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, technology partners, and manufacturing teams to oversee electronics development throughout the entire product lifecycle, from concept to mass production
- Lead schematic and layout design inspections to improve the quality of design releases and product reliability
- Develop test methods and create test plans to evaluate and validate designs effectively
- Bring up, characterize, and debug systems and circuits using lab tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, power supplies, hi-pot testers, etc.
- Evaluate and document design outcomes, test results, and related information, then present findings to the design teams for review and further action
- Support regulatory compliance efforts (FCC, CE, IEC, etc.) through design best practices and debug activities
- Optimize performance of electronics design using simulation tools and hands-on measurements
- Develop, evaluate, and help finalize assembly drawings, bill of materials, Geber files, and other design documentation needed for product release
- Partner with new product introduction team to develop and define test requirements documentation for PCBA board level testers and system functional test fixtures on the production line
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar engineering discipline
- 6+ years of industry leading electronics design experience with emphasis on designing densely populated, tightly packaged, power control and delivery systems in embedded electronics
- Highly proficient in engineering processes and expectations across all design phases, with the ability to lead hardware design and development from concept through to mass production release
- Experienced system-level design engineer skilled in creating designs that meet product requirements. Proficient in collaborating with product and engineering teams to navigate design trade-offs and selections, ensuring a meticulous approach to minimize errors and deliver successful results
- Proficient in power supply design and selection based on product needs and trade-offs. Experienced in designing with switch-mode power supplies (buck, boost, buck/boost, and flyback), including circuit operation and component selection for custom applications. Strong background in high-voltage power supply design, with expertise in developing, testing, and characterizing custom magnetics considered a significant plus
- Demonstrated expertise and ownership of electronics architecture/design/integration and verification testing in several of the following areas: embedded microcontrollers, power supply design (switch-mode and linear regulators), power delivery networks, motor controllers, memory subsystems (FLASH/EEPROM), high speed and low speed communication interfaces (USB, UART, SPI, I2C), high power interfaces, battery specific applications, battery chargers, high power LED and driver design, and RF subsystem integration
- Experience designing products for electromagnetic compatibility and protecting circuitry against electromagnetic interference and electrostatic discharge events. Familiar with typical EMI/ESD filtering and protection techniques, as well as snubber circuitry design.
- Collaborates effectively with firmware engineering to develop and debug embedded electronic systems
- Strong hands-on proficiency with electronics bring-up, characterization, and debug using laboratory tools: Oscilloscope, power supplies, multimeters, custom jigs, etc.
- Proficient schematic design skills using industry leading design tools, including BOM development. Experience with Cadence/OrCAD desired. Experience developing rigid, flex, and rigid-flex PCB designs.
- Skilled in leading and collaborating with PCB and mechanical design engineers to develop PCB layouts that align with design requirements.
- Experience supporting products through regulatory compliance testing
- Independent contributor capable of developing products within cross-functional and geographically diverse engineering teams
- Strong proficiency in documentation, analysis, and presentation tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Your Day-to-Day
- Research, propose, and develop innovative, industry leading circuit designs for Axon’s future-generation video products, wired and wireless devices, and/or low power accessories.
- Lead project team EE’s and design partners, joining forces to achieve successful completion of hardware objectives.
- Use OrCAD to create embedded mixed-signal circuit schematics, integrating components like application processors, image sensors, high speed memory, high speed digital communication buses, RF transceivers, power supplies, battery charging systems, and more.
- Partner with PCB Design engineers to define, review, and optimize printed circuit board layout designs using Allegro or other layout tools
- Bring up, characterize, optimize, and debug systems and circuits using lab tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, power supplies, etc.
- Team up with RF Engineers to integrate and validate critical RF circuitry for wirelessly connected devices.
- Assess design outcomes, test results, and related information and present findings to design team and management.
- Enhance design performance through simulation, measurement, and iteration to meet product, system, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, evaluate, and finalize Bill of Materials and other design documentation needed for product release.
- Share knowledge, guide team members, and help elevate the team’s technical capabilities.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar engineering discipline
- 7+ years of industry embedded electronics design experience with a major focus on designing high-speed, high-density, portable, battery-powered devices, robotics, or low-power vehicular embedded circuits.
- Creative and passionate about innovative design and cutting-edge technology
- Demonstrated ownership of embedded electronics design across multiple subsystems, such as:
- Microcontroller and high-speed applications processors
- Image sensors or image sensor modules
- High speed memory subsystems (DDR4, DDR5, eMMC, xMCP)
- Power delivery networks (SMPS, LDO, PMIC)
- Lithium batteries and charging circuitry
- Audio subsystems (Codec, Mics, Speakers)
- RF integration (GNSS, BT, LTE, 5G)
- High- and low-speed wired interfaces (Ethernet, USB3.x, I2C, SPI, UART)
- Sensor integration (IMU, Radar, TOF)
- Rigid, Flex, and Rigid-Flex PCB design
- Skilled in high-speed, high-density hardware design, including system architecture development, component selection, schematic design, PCB layout management, design verification testing and debug.
- Proficient leading electronics design and development from concept to mass production
- Experience with technical oversight of design partners, ODMs, and JDMs leading to successful electronics design.
- Strong proficiency with point of load power supply design (Switch mode, linear regulators), PMIC integration, power tree development, and power consumption analysis
- Experience with Lithium batteries and battery charging circuit design
- Experience with RF transceiver integration including LTE, Wi-Fi, and GNSS.
- Exceptional hands-on proficiency with electronics bring-up, characterization, and debug using laboratory tools: Oscilloscope, power supplies, multimeters, and custom jigs
- Strong schematic design proficiency using industry leading design tools, including BOM development. Experience with Cadence/OrCAD is preferred.
- Collaborates effectively with PCB engineers to deliver successful PCB designs for multilayer HDI rigid, rigid-flex and flex boards. Experience with Allegro Viewer a plus.
- Experienced in designing electronics to pass regulatory standards (FCC, CE, IEC, etc).
- Independent contributor capable of developing products within cross-functional and geographically diverse engineering teams
- Solid skills with documentation, analysis, and presentations tools, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Your Impact
As a member of the Video Electrical Engineering Sustaining team, you will play a key role in maintaining, debugging, qualifying, and improving the electronics designs behind Axon’s in-market video products. This includes wirelessly connected body-worn cameras, in-vehicle camera systems, high-speed docking stations, and other mass-produced devices. Your technical expertise, engineering process knowledge, and hands-on design and debug skills will be essential to sustaining product continuity by addressing component obsolescence, facilitating design improvements, resolving critical field and production issues, and supporting regulatory testing needed to maintain global certifications or enable entry into new markets.
In this role, you will own design improvement activities while collaborating across cross-functional teams and global partners to help maintain truly world-class products. You will join a passionate engineering team devoted to solving complex challenges and delivering technologies that make a meaningful difference for Law Enforcement, Public Safety, and the communities they serve.
Work Location: This role is based out of our Scottsdale, AZ office. What You'll Do
- Update in-market circuit designs to address component obsolescence, approved component substitutions, second-source requests, cost reduction opportunities, and other post-launch design improvements for mass-produced electronics.
- Partner with cross-functional engineering teams, technology partners, and manufacturing teams to own electronics sustainment throughout the post-launch product lifecycle.
- Execute bench verification and performance evaluation of components and circuits using standard laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and power supplies.
- Perform hands-on debug, failure analysis, and rework of electronic systems, circuits, and components.
- Use OrCAD Capture and related design tools to update embedded mixed-signal circuit designs for complex electronic products, including processors, sensors, memory, power, audio, RF, and PCB assemblies.
- Work closely with PCB design engineers to define, implement, review, and release PCB layout updates using Allegro or similar layout tools.
- Test and evaluate baseline RF performance of wireless subsystems, including cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GNSS, in assigned in-market products.
- Develop test methods, execute system- and component-level verification, and drive test plans to validate electronic design changes.
- Document design changes, test results, and technical conclusions, and communicate findings clearly to design teams and management.
- Provide hardware support to global regulatory compliance teams, including sample preparation, documentation, and debug, for certifications such as FCC, IC, CE, and PTCRB.
- Update, review, and finalize BOMs and other design documentation to support engineering changes and production release.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 4+ years of industry experience in electronics design or sustaining engineering for mass-produced, high-speed, high-density, portable battery-powered embedded devices or vehicular embedded electronics.
- Experience identifying and implementing alternate-source electronic components and related circuit changes to improve product quality, address obsolescence, and reduce supply chain risk in production hardware.
- Experience executing engineering change orders, including updates to BOMs, schematics, and PCB layouts.
- Well-developed foundation in analog and digital circuit design.
- Experience with component selection, circuit design, and verification testing in multiple areas such as power supplies, processors and microcontrollers, memory subsystems, wired interfaces, audio, RF subsystems, sensors, protection circuitry, connectors, batteries, and PCBAs/flex PCBAs.
- Experience with high-speed design and validation for hardware interfaces such as USB 3.x, Ethernet, RF, and DDR memory.
- Working knowledge of RF integration and test for Bluetooth, BLE, Wi-Fi, GNSS, and cellular systems.
- Strong hands-on lab skills for board bring-up, characterization, debug, and failure analysis using standard electrical engineering lab equipment.
- Proficiency with schematic capture and BOM development using industry-standard tools; Cadence/OrCAD preferred.
- Experience collaborating with PCB layout engineers to inspect, optimize, and release designs to fabrication; Allegro Viewer experience is a plus.
- Experience supporting regulatory compliance testing and debug for standards such as FCC, CE, and PTCRB.
- Ability to create test plans to validate component and circuit-level changes.
- Proven ability to work autonomously in cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.

YOUR IMPACT
As a Senior RF Engineer II on the Wireless & Connectivity Center of Excellence (CoE) team, you will lead the design and development of advanced wireless connectivity solutions across Axon’s product portfolio — including Body-Worn Cameras, in-vehicle systems, wearables, and other next-generation platforms.
You will own RF architecture and implementation across a broad range of wireless technologies — from integration of Wi-Fi + Bluetooth combo modules to detailed chip-down cellular designs — spanning PCB layout, RF routing, matching networks, and antenna port optimization. Your deep expertise in LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, and related wireless systems will be applied to hands-on design, validation, and performance optimization of mission-critical video and communications products serving law enforcement, public safety, and enterprise customers.
You will leverage your technical depth, disciplined engineering approach, passion for wireless innovation, and strong ownership mindset to deliver robust, high-performance designs that meet the demanding reliability and coexistence requirements of real-world public safety environments.
In addition to leading complex RF circuit designs, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional global engineering teams — spanning industrial design, hardware, firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and regulatory — to deliver world-class products at scale. As a senior technical contributor, you will influence architectural decisions, drive best practices in RF design and validation, and mentor engineers to elevate the overall technical capability of the organization.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead the RF design and integration of high-performance wireless subsystems for compact, battery-powered portable and vehicular products (drones, automotive-mounted systems, mobile devices, action cameras)
- Actively contribute to the hands on design and optimization of chip-down RF circuitry and integrated modules for technologies such as LTE, 5G, GNSS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth technologies, ensuring robust performance across complex multi-radio systems
- Own the RF system architecture and execution from concept through mass production, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, and software engineering
- Partner with antenna engineers to select, evaluate, and integrate antenna solutions—printed, PCB, or metal—into high-density product designs
- Conduct RF system debugging, interference mitigation, and receiver desense analysis to optimize real-world performance
- Drive PCB layout for RF integrity, performing detailed layout reviews and driving design recommendations to ensure optimal wireless performance
- Oversee technical deliverables from design partners, managing schedules and ensuring engineering quality throughout the product lifecycle
- Characterize, test, and validate RF performance using lab equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, radio testers, and RF chambers
- Conduct real-world RF field testing to validate wireless performance, capture KPIs, and troubleshoot connectivity performance issues
- Translate product-level wireless performance requirements into actionable RF specifications and test plans
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building internal RF engineering best practices
What you’ll bring
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- 9–12+ years designing, integrating, and optimizing wireless RF solutions for battery-powered and vehicular embedded products deployed in real-world environments (e.g., drones, automotive-mounted systems, mobile devices, action cameras)
- 5+ years designing and integrating chip-down cellular RF circuits (e.g., LTE, 5G, Cat-4 and above)
- Demonstrated expertise in multi-transceiver wireless system architecture, RF circuit design, and system integration across 4G, 5G, multi-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS technologies as a minimum.
- Proven experience as a Lead embedded RF Engineer, personally driving RF architecture, schematic design, integration, debug, and validation from concept through mass production
- Proficient in providing technical oversight of RF design partners, including design reviews and ownership of day-to-day technical interactions
- Proven ability to own and drive multiple complex wireless projects, balancing architectural trade-offs, execution risk, and delivery timelines
- Strong cross-functional, system-level understanding of the challenges and trade-offs involved in the real-world integration of multiple RF transceivers within complex, high-density mobile, wearable, and vehicular embedded systems
- Significant practical experience with RF debugging, interference analysis, coexistence challenges, and receiver de-sense mitigation
- Strong hands-on proficiency with RF measurement equipment, characterization and test methodologies, and evaluation criteria required to ensure robust and reliable wireless performance
- Strong schematic design experience, preferably using Cadence / OrCAD
- Demonstrated ability to guide PCB layout for wireless designs, perform detailed layout reviews, and issue actionable design recommendations
- Solid understanding of antenna theory, antenna structures, selection trade-offs, and performance requirements within constrained embedded platforms
- Familiarity with industry standards and regional regulatory certification processes relevant to RF design (e.g., 3GPP, PTCRB, GCF, FCC, ETSI)
- Experience operating within global, cross-functional engineering teams, including mentoring and technical guidance of junior engineers
- Strong documentation, communication, and technical presentation skills
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with Qualcomm RF chipsets, diagnostic and characterization tools (e.g., QXDM, QRCT, QCAT)

What You'll Do
Location: Scottsdale, AZ [Relocation Assistance Available]
- Drive innovative product development from conceptualization to manufacturing
- Utilize creative problem solving skills to lead ideation of new product architectural concepts for subsystem and system level designs
- Construct and analyze high fidelity proof-of-concept prototypes
- Perform detailed mechanical analysis to ensure proper function through FEA, tolerance analysis, testing, and other exploratory means
- Collaborate regularly with both domestic and international stakeholders
- Work autonomously and collaboratively in an empowering and fast-paced environment
- Hone your engineering expertise in a dynamic learning environment focused on personal and professional development
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum 7 years of product design experience in high-end consumer electronic products
- Proficiency with Creo or similar 3D CAD software
- Knowledge in the design of plastic injection molded, stamped metal, die-cast, and machined parts
- Familiarity with adhesives and bonded joint design
- Experience designing for a high level of dust/water ingress protection
- Experience with PCB/PCBA flex circuit and other electro-mechanical integration
- Strong DFM/DFA skills, with emphasis on part/assembly tolerance management, to ensure robust designs for high volume manufacturing
- Ability to interpret product requirements and translate into quantifiable engineering deliverables
- Experience preserving Industrial Design artistic intent in mechanical design implementation
- Effective communication and strong presentation skills
- Ability to balance and prioritize conflicting design constraints through analysis, testing, and creativity
- Collaboration with peers in a candid cross-functional team culture

We are seeking a skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team, focusing on the design, development, and troubleshooting of electrical circuits for semiconductor tools. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and efficacy of our electrical systems, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to create cohesive tool architectures.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot electrical circuits related to semiconductor tools
- Ensure safety is a priority in design and operation, utilizing safety-rated devices
- Research and select components that meet tool requirements
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design unified tool architectures
- Create schematic and cable designs
- Adhere to the company's Engineering Change Order (ECO) process
- Review documents meticulously, adapt to changes, handle tasks independently, and manage time effectively
- Work closely with designers and drafters to generate detailed documentation
- Understanding of pneumatics and PCB design is advantageous
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Proven experience in electrical circuit design and troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge of safety standards and practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in technical writing
- Familiarity with recognized safety and machinery standards such as NEC, NFPA 79, UL 508A, FM 4910, ISO 13849, EN/IEC 60204-1 & -33, SEMI specifications is a plus
- Experience with AutoCAD is an advantage
