As a Trading Systems Engineer you’ll collaborate with trading, infrastructure, and software development teams, working closely with exchanges, traders, and developers to support ongoing improvements and keep our trading technology performing at its best.

As markets evolve toward 24×7 trading, we’re expanding coverage to ensure our systems run smoothly during high impact periods that extend beyond the traditional Monday–Friday schedule. Our Compliance team are looking for a Surveillance Analyst to join their team in Europe. The role is positioned at the crossroads of regulation and markets, where you’d participate in the full lifecycle of review - from building to calibration - from detection to escalation.

Role responsibilities:

• Monitor and review automated trade and electronic communications surveillance alerts across the firm's global trading activity, covering on-exchange and OTC markets across equities, fixed income, commodities, FX, futures, and options, initially with focus on Europe (including the UK).
• Configuration of existing alerts for new activity or to improve on existing studies.
• Document investigation findings clearly and concisely, maintaining a robust audit trail to regulatory standards.
• Escalate suspected breaches to senior compliance staff, and support market abuse related inquiries from Exchanges, DEA Providers, and Regulators.

About the role

IMC’s Macro Analyst team provides traders with market-moving insights and trading ideas across global macro and volatility markets. As the Lead Macro Analyst, you will be based in Amsterdam and oversee a team focused on generating actionable analysis and trading strategies across European equity index volatility and related markets. As a Trader Intern, you will complete a 9 week training programme in Options Market Making run by our traders, including trading simulation, project work and programming courses. Throughout the internship you will gain insight into the work of our market making desks whilst having the opportunity to get to know us at our regular social events. At the end of the internship, you will be considered for a place on our 2027 Amsterdam Graduate Trader Programme. 

During the Internship, you will spend your first 3 weeks in our London office for a fast-paced, interactive introduction to Trading, before returning to Amsterdam for the remaining 6 weeks of the programme.

Your Role in Our Story:

• Leading and managing the trading of biomethane quotas, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies to expand our impact.

• Maximizing revenue from biomethane trading by leveraging our existing network and spotting new market opportunities.
