About the role
About Común
Comun’s mission is to help Hispanic immigrants turn their hard work into upward mobility — starting with financial services that support their transition from a cash-based system to the digital economy.
We offer checking accounts that can be opened using 100+ types of Latin American IDs, access to over 90K locations nationwide to deposit cash, international transfers to 17 countries at market-leading rates, and 24/7 bilingual customer support with <5 min SLA across email, chat, and phone.
We currently process over $1.5B in annual transaction volume and surpassed $100M in annualized international transfers just six months after launch. Comun has raised +$50M from top investors including Redpoint, Costanoa Ventures, and South Park Commons. Our team brings experience from leading fintech companies like Brex, Nubank, and Mercury.
We believe immigrants are the ultimate entrepreneurs — driven by relentless ambition and a vision for a better future for their families. Comun exists to serve them throughout their journey.

About the Role
At Común, brand is trust. We serve a community that has historically been underserved by financial institutions — and for many of our users, Común will be their first experience with a brand that actually speaks to them. This role owns that first impression.
We are looking for a Content Manager who will be the face of Común. You will create content that is clear, warm, and credible — appearing on camera, behind the keyboard, and across every channel where our community shows up. You are equally comfortable writing a punchy Instagram caption, scripting and filming a short-form video, revising an email that highlights core positioning, and planning the calendar that ties it all together.
Reporting to the Brand & Content Lead, you will translate our brand narrative into high-quality, high-volume content across formats. Rather than just experiment with AI, you treat these tools as essential to your craft — using them to move faster, maintain quality, and stay ahead of the content calendar. You are organized, resourceful, and deeply connected to the communities we serve.
This role is based in New York City.
Written and spoken fluency in both English and Spanish required
What You'll Do
- Be the face of Común across social and video channels — scripting, filming, presenting, and publishing content that represents our brand with authenticity and warmth
- Execute content across formats: short-form and long-form video, static social posts, email / lifecycle copy, blog posts, landing page copy, and OOH creative support
- Own and manage the content calendar — prioritizing creation to meet educational and learning objectives, product launches, seasonal moments, and campaign needs
- Partner with the Brand & Content Lead to translate brand strategy into executable content plans, ensuring visual and tonal consistency across all channels
- Use AI tools throughout your workflow to increase output, accelerate drafts, and maintain quality across a high volume of deliverables
- Track and report on content performance — engagement, reach, conversion signals — and use those insights to sharpen future content
- Collaborate with Design and Product teams to ensure message consistency from paid channels through in-app experiences and customer communications
- Identify and work with external creators, photographers, and production resources as needed to supplement content needs
You Are
- On-Camera Confident. You are comfortable being the face of a brand on video — not just passable, but genuinely compelling. You know how to connect with an audience through a screen.
- Multi-Format Fluent. You can move between a TikTok script, an email subject line, a landing page headline, and a YouTube thumbnail brief without missing a beat. Format doesn't constrain you — it energizes you.
- AI-Native. You actively use AI tools as a core part of your creative process. You see them as a multiplier, not a shortcut, and you know how to get great output from them.
- Organized Under Pressure. You can manage a content calendar across multiple channels, juggle competing priorities, and hit deadlines in a fast-moving startup environment — without sacrificing quality.
- Community-Connected. You have a genuine cultural connection to the Latin American immigrant experience in the US. You understand the nuances of speaking to this community and approach it with respect, care, credibility, and humor.
- Data-Curious. You pay attention to what performs and why. You're comfortable pulling basic analytics, forming hypotheses, and adjusting your approach based on what the numbers tell you.
- Collaborative by Default. You work closely with brand, product, growth, and operations teammates, and you raise the bar by giving and receiving direct, thoughtful feedback.
- Owner. You show passion and care for your work and the company's trajectory. You take initiative, move with urgency, and hold yourself accountable to outcomes — not just outputs.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in content creation, social media, or brand marketing — ideally at a consumer startup, fintech, or media brand
- Written and spoken fluency in both English and Spanish required
- Demonstrated on-camera experience: a portfolio or channel showing you can perform, present, or host on video in a brand-aligned way
- Strong portfolio showing range across formats: video, written copy, social, email
- Proven ability to manage a multi-channel content calendar and prioritize against business objectives
- Experience using AI tools as a meaningful part of your content workflow and multiplier of your ability to test new hypotheses
- Proficiency with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn) and content scheduling tools
- Familiarity with basic performance analytics — Meta Insights, TikTok Analytics, Google Analytics, or equivalent
- Proven cultural competency around our core user — a Latin American immigrant in the US
Nice to Have
- Experience in financial services, fintech, or a regulated industry
- Experience in smaller organizations that need to actively balance precision with pace
- Basic video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent)
- Experience working with or managing freelancers, creators, or production vendors
- Familiarity with lifecycle / email marketing tools (Braze, Klaviyo, Iterable, or equivalent)
