Rallye Mercedes, a prominent member of Long Island’s top automotive group, is seeking a dedicated and talented Workshop Team Lead to join our dynamic team. This role uniquely blends advanced leadership duties with ongoing hands-on work as a valued technician. As an essential leader within our service department workshop, you will be responsible for maintaining high service quality standards in the workshop, while ensuring full compliance with Mercedes-Benz guidelines and procedures. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with Shop Management to identify and implement development opportunities for the current technicians in the shop.

Lead Responsibilities:

• Organize technician workflow and workshop efficiency to ensure maximum throughput and resource utilization.
• Uphold high-quality service standards to drive increased productivity and elevate customer satisfaction scores.
• Collaborate with dispatcher to align job assignments with technician skill levels and Rallye’s business needs.
• Provide initial diagnostic support and technical direction to assist technicians with repair orders.
• Ensure strict adherence to Mercedes-Benz warranty time-punching guidelines and identify specific training needs for technician development and provide feedback to shop manager
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace to set a standard of excellence and foster a positive, collaborative team environment.
• Partner with the Shop Manager to identify and implement growth opportunities based on individual technician developmental needs.

Technician Responsibilities

• Efficiently diagnose and repair a range of complex mechanical issues in Mercedes vehicles.
• Perform work as described on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Mercedes Benz factory and Rallye Mercedes Benz standards.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, identifying any additional repairs needed and communicating with service advisors.
• Collaborate with the Parts Department to procure necessary parts.
• Document all services performed clearly and accurately.
• Take vehicles for road tests when required to ensure everything is functioning smoothly.

$35 to $50 Hourly + Bonus Program

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years experience as a technician, preferably with Mercedes vehicles.
• A valid New York State Driver’s License.
• NYS Inspector's License is required.
• Strong mechanical skills and manual dexterity.
• Proficiency with shop equipment, including diagnostic tools and alignment systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical information and repair orders.
