THE ROLE
Based out of our Hamilton office, this newly created Corporate Business Development Manager role is a key driver of growth across the Waikato through to Wellington region. Focused purely on new business acquisition, you'll identify opportunities, build strategic relationships and champion fleet leasing solutions to organisations that may not yet understand the benefits of the model.
This is a true hunter role, responsible for generating new customer partnerships, increasing vehicle deliveries and driving sustainable revenue growth. Working proactively in the market, you'll leverage networking opportunities, industry associations and targeted business development activities to build a strong pipeline.
Success in this role will come from your ability to open doors, influence decision-makers and position yourself as a trusted advocate for the fleet leasing industry across both private and government sectors
Some of your key responsibilities will be:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking and competitor activities
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to potential clients.
- Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximise contractual profit.
- Develop and own a prospecting call cycle to secure opportunities
- Track and report on business development activities, pipeline status, and performance metrics in SalesForce.
- Present on sales performance quarterly including expected business plan and budget outcomes
- Attend industry events and networking opportunities to promote the company and leverage opportunities
ABOUT YOU
You're a driven and commercially minded business development professional who loves the thrill of winning new business.
A natural self-starter, you're confident engaging with senior decision-makers, creating opportunities from scratch, and building a strong pipeline through proactive networking, prospecting and relationship building. While fleet industry experience isn't essential, you'll bring proven B2B sales success, strong sales discipline and the motivation to make a real impact in a high-growth market.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Proven success in B2B sales and customer acquisition, with a strong track record of generating new business opportunities.
- A proactive, hunter mentality with the drive, resilience and self-motivation to work autonomously and achieve results.
- Confidence building relationships and influencing senior stakeholders and business leaders.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to identify customer needs and present compelling solutions.
- Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce, with excellent pipeline management and sales process discipline
