This role combines hands-on Magento development with technical leadership and project management responsibilities. The individual will serve as the internal technical owner of the Magento platform while managing external development teams and vendors. The ideal candidate is comfortable both writing and reviewing code while leading strategic initiatives that improve platform performance and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
Perform hands-on Magento development including configuration updates, enhancements, and bug fixesSupport both front-end and back-end improvements including themes, modules, and extensionsTroubleshoot performance issues, site errors, and platform functionalitySupport staging, QA, and production deployment processesReview and validate external vendor code prior to deploymentHelp optimize site speed, checkout flow, and overall user experienceEnsure security best practices and platform updates are maintainedManage and coordinate work with external Magento development partnersDefine project scope, timelines, and deliverables for development initiativesTranslate business goals into technical requirements for development teamsPrioritize development initiatives and manage the platform roadmapOversee testing, release management, and deployment processesImprove internal documentation and development workflowsEvaluate Magento architecture to ensure scalability and long-term performanceIdentify opportunities for automation and operational improvementsRecommend platform upgrades, integrations, and tools that enhance the customer experienceServe as the internal subject matter expert for Magento and related eCommerce systemsQualifications
