Performance Marketer

Real opportunities. Real impact. Your career, redefined.

(NOTE: A human reviews every application at Oceans, so please apply for only one position and only once a year—if you're a better fit for another role, we’ll route your application accordingly and if we’re not quite ready for you, we’ll reach back out later.)

At Oceans, we help the best and brightest of Sri Lanka to take advantage of opportunities that otherwise wouldn’t be available to them, while supporting entrepreneurs around the world. Our community (we call them Divers) don’t do surface work—they go deep to solve complex challenges and make a real impact. And in doing so, they support bold ideas and expand their skills, broaden their expertise, and grow their careers, all without having to leave family and friends.

As a Performance Marketer, you’ll take ownership of high-impact campaigns across paid channels and drive measurable results across acquisition, engagement, and retention. You’ll dig into data, optimize performance, and move the needle where it matters most.

This is a role for those who love working at the intersection of creativity and analytics, and those who are excited to partner directly with leaders in fast-moving companies.

Accountability

As a Performance Marketer, your success will be defined by your ability to plan, execute, and scale campaigns that maximize return on ad spend and support broader growth goals.

Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

Strategy & Campaign Execution

  • Develop and implement paid performance marketing strategies that align with customer acquisition and retention goals.
  • Launch and manage multi-channel campaigns across PPC, display, social, and affiliate networks.
  • Own the full lifecycle of campaign execution—from audience targeting and ad creation to bid optimization and reporting.

Data-Driven Optimization

  • Monitor daily performance metrics (CPC, CTR, CPA, ROAS, etc.) and make real-time adjustments to improve results.
  • Conduct keyword research, build landing pages in collaboration with dev teams, and continuously improve conversion funnels.
  • Utilize heatmaps, user behavior data, and customer feedback to identify and resolve friction points.

Testing & Reporting

  • Design and run A/B and multivariate tests to refine ads, CTAs, creatives, and conversion paths.
  • Track and analyze campaign performance using analytics platforms and develop dashboards for reporting insights.
  • Make budget reallocation decisions based on performance trends and ROI.

Colleagues

Your primary stakeholder will be your client, along with the cross-functional teams they work with. You’ll collaborate closely with marketing strategists, creative designers, product managers, UX designers, and web developers to ensure campaigns are conversion-optimized and on-brand.

At Oceans, you’ll also receive guidance and support from your Operations Manager, who will help you succeed in the role and ensure that you’re continuously growing and developing in your career.

Skills and Qualifications

At Oceans, we believe in T-shaped individuals—those who bring deep expertise in one area, paired with broad curiosity and interests. As a Performance Marketer, your vertical focus will be paid advertising and campaign optimization, while your horizontal strengths span analytics, creative development, and CRO.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Language Skills: Professional fluency in English, with excellent communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Experience: At least 4 years in performance marketing or media buying with a strong track record of campaign success.
  • Education: A degree in Marketing, Business, or relevant work experience.
  • Performance Marketing Tools: Proficiency in HubSpot, Salesforce, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Optimizely, or VWO.
  • Marketing Platforms: Hands-on experience with Google Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and Google Analytics.
  • Channel Expertise: Excellent understanding of PPC, display, social media advertising, affiliate marketing, and retargeting.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret campaign data, uncover insights, and drive decision-making.
  • Conversion Rate Optimization: Experience with A/B testing, landing page optimization, and user experience mapping.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with strong attention to detail.

Diversity of experience is core to Oceans. You are expected to work inclusively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, ensuring that both personal and collective dignity are supported.

During the interview process, you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your skills in the following areas:

  • Campaign Execution: How have you launched, managed, and optimized high-performing paid campaigns across various channels?
  • ROI Optimization: How have you improved ROAS or reduced CAC through strategic testing and performance tweaks?
  • Analytics & Reporting: How have you used tools like Google Analytics or VWO to interpret data and drive decision-making?
  • UX & CRO: How have you collaborated with dev or design teams to improve landing page conversions or streamline user journeys?
  • Budget Management: How have you monitored and reallocated the budget in real time to hit performance targets?

Role Specifications

This is a remote role, where you will be expected to work a split shift with some overlap with our client’s time zone. You will, however, be expected to be present for in-person training programs during your first 3.5 weeks with us. During the offer process, we’ll share more information about our benefits and compensation philosophy, considering both market trends and individual factors.
