About our Fintech Team
In Fintech, we are responsible for all the monetary flows within Kiwi.com. A team of developers, payment specialists, business & data analysts and product magicians inside Kiwi.com. We are charged with building the pillars of everything directly or indirectly related to payments at Kiwi.com. Payments from our customers, payments to airlines and to travel agencies, carefully preventing fraudulent behavior and ensuring the financial safety of our customers - our impact makes it safer for you to travel!
What you will do
Cooperate on designing and building a new generation of high-impact tools, sharing insights and using AI to increase the overall efficiency.
Support the end-to-end quality of our code by responsibly running robust unit, integration, manual, and automated testing to ensure collective success.
Navigate the complexities of payment systems with a detailed approach, understanding the challenges of payment processes while mindfully mitigating security risks.
Partner closely with product and business metrics to think beyond the codebase, bringing a shared curiosity to understand real-world traveler needs and ensure our technical solutions truly care for our users.
Nurture close collaboration with our dedicated FinTech specialists and connect openly with third-party service providers to deliver reliable, high-quality features together.
Dive deep into the world of global payments, masterfully sharing knowledge on how virtual credit cards, alternative payment methods (Apple Pay, Revolut), and 3DS authentication operate.
Understand and decode fraudulent behavior, expanding your expertise in cutting-edge fraud detection systems to protect our community and platform.
Uncover the shared logic behind financial reconciliation, learning exactly why it serves as a critical, supportive foundation for our long-term stability and business health.
What you will need
Your hands-on experience and drive to inherently use AI (Cursor or Claude Code) to eliminate manual development steps and accelerate your daily impact.
Your strong analytical mindset and ability to evaluate multiple technical paths, navigate complex payment processes, and mitigate potential security risks.
You are fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clear and empathetic collaboration within lean, high-talent teams.
You have a proven track record of debugging complex issues and driving long-term, sustainable technical fixes.
You are fluent in Python and enjoy working with clean, stable, and maintainable code bases.
Hands-on experience with relational databases—mainly PostgreSQL and Redis—along with a data-driven familiarity with BigQuery.
Your solid knowledge of object-oriented design patterns, microservices architecture, REST principles, and asynchronous messaging systems like PubSub.
You have a proven track record of sharing responsibility for deployment flows, showing a commitment to team success by collaborating on how we safely manage, nurture, and maintain our cloud infrastructure.
