About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to join our project team in Vaasa, Finland. This role will be responsible for supporting the environmental management of projects, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, sustainability objectives, and company standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
Support the implementation of environmental management systems and processes across the project lifecycle
• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, regulations, and project-specific requirements
• Monitor environmental performance on site, including waste management, emissions, and resource usage
• Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate environmental impacts
• Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to promote environmentally responsible practices
• Assist in the development and implementation of environmental plans, including waste management and sustainability strategies
• Monitor and report on environmental KPIs and performance metrics
• Support incident investigations related to environmental issues and assist in implementing corrective actions
• Ensure all environmental documentation and records are maintained and up to date
• Attend Site Meetings, Environmental Meetings, and Project Reviews
• Advise site teams on environmental compliance and best practices
• Support initiatives to improve sustainability performance, including energy efficiency and waste reduction
• Identify environmental risks and support their mitigation and resolution
Skills & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or similar discipline
• Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in an environmental engineering role within construction or engineering
• Good knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices
• Experience supporting environmental management on construction or infrastructure projects
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and stakeholder coordination abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary project team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to sustainability
• Data centre, industrial, or mission-critical project experience is advantageous
