We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Data Privacy Consultant to support the implementation and management of enterprise privacy and data protection programs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in privacy consulting, data discovery, data mapping, and regulatory compliance, with a strong understanding of global privacy frameworks such as GDPR and DPDPA. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to identify privacy risks, implement compliance controls, and help organizations strengthen their data protection posture.
As a Data Privacy Consultant, you will collaborate with business, legal, technology, risk, and compliance stakeholders to execute privacy initiatives, perform privacy assessments, and ensure adherence to evolving regulatory requirements. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work on enterprise-scale privacy transformation projects across diverse business environments.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct data discovery, data mapping, and data flow assessments across business functions to identify personal data processing activities.
- Perform Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), privacy risk assessments, and compliance gap assessments.
- Support the implementation of enterprise privacy programs aligned with GDPR, DPDPA, and other applicable global privacy regulations.
- Develop, maintain, and update Records of Processing Activities (RoPA), privacy policies, compliance documentation, and related governance artifacts.
- Collaborate with business, technology, legal, risk, and compliance teams to design and implement effective privacy controls and remediation plans.
- Participate in privacy audits, compliance reviews, regulatory readiness assessments, and internal governance initiatives.
- Manage project timelines, stakeholder communications, deliverables, and reporting to ensure successful execution of privacy projects.
- Monitor regulatory developments and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance with evolving privacy requirements.
- Support awareness initiatives and provide guidance on privacy governance, data handling practices, and regulatory obligations.
- Prepare project documentation, assessment reports, and compliance recommendations for internal and client stakeholders.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 2–3 years of experience in Data Privacy, Privacy Consulting, or Privacy Compliance projects.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Data Discovery, Data Mapping, privacy risk assessments, and privacy implementation initiatives.
- Good understanding of global privacy regulations, including GDPR, DPDPA, and other international data protection frameworks.
- Experience preparing and maintaining Records of Processing Activities (RoPA) and other privacy compliance documentation.
- Knowledge of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), DPIAs, and privacy governance best practices.
- Strong project management skills with experience coordinating stakeholders, timelines, and project deliverables.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, communication, and client-facing abilities.
- Experience working within regulated industries such as BFSI is an added advantage.
- Exposure to privacy governance frameworks, privacy management tools, and compliance platforms is desirable.
- Relevant certifications such as CIPP, CIPM, CIPT, ISO/IEC 27701 Lead Implementer, or similar certifications are preferred.
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple privacy initiatives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
