Our Warsaw office is an incredibly exciting addition to our EMEA expansion. We're already in the UK, France, and Germany, and the new Poland location is a global engineering and product development hub alongside our headquarters in Redwood City, California. Join our growing engineering teams in Warsaw as we expand by over 100 members in 2024! Depending on your skills, experience, and preferences, you’ll have the opportunity to join one of several teams to solve some of the toughest challenges as we build out the future of content management in the cloud. Your work will directly impact the productivity of millions of users at some of today’s most significant enterprises.

We are currently looking for the engineers for the following teams:

  • The Core Data team’s mission is to provide highly-available, consistent and easy-to-use services for near-realtime access to our users’ data graphs. Developers at Box routinely face challenges of serving millions of requests per second, while providing enterprise-grade uptime, consistency and performance guarantees. Our goal is to let them focus on business logic, while we make sure the data layer lives up to their requirements. As a member of this team, you will have a unique opportunity to shape the future of data at Box.
    Collaborating with several teams across our relational data tier, you will develop and scale our near-realtime data access interfaces that provide a change data stream of all actions performed on the graph and a highly scalable data warehouse that can support complex data processing. You will engage with client teams to understand their use cases, enhance the interfaces to support those use cases, and drive wider adoption across engineering. You will advocate for and ensure that our services meet our availability, performance and reliability SLOs. Join us in shaping and implementing the roadmap to achieve our team’s technical vision of transforming our core data tier into a truly self-contained platform.

  • The Identity & Security Foundation (ISF) team owns the core authentication, identity, and secure access infrastructure that protects millions of users and enterprises on Box. We build and operate the services behind Login, Authorization, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Single Sign-On (SSO), OAuth, Device Trust, and Secure Access Controls. These systems are critical to every Box customer and every Box application across Web, Mobile, Desktop, and APIs. As part of ISF, you will work on highly available, security-sensitive services that sit directly on Box's most critical user journeys. Your work will have company-wide impact and will be used by numerous teams across Box.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop high-quality, scalable, and responsive software using modern technologies.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using industry best practices.
  • Work effectively with Designers, Product Managers and cross-functional global teams to deliver to deliver the high quality software and seamless user experience.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality and improve team efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and debug software defects to ensure smooth functionality.
  • Collaborate effectively in an Agile development environment, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Participate in our on-call rotation, available at all times while on-call to help respond to and triage any issues that arise.

Who you are: 

  • 4+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong coding skills with demonstrated proficiency in one ot the following programming languages such as Java, Python, Scala or PHP
  • Familiarity with Node.js is a plus
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform and/or Amazon Web Services.
  • Skilled in designing and developing APIs.
  • Proven ability to design, build, and deploy high-quality software.
  • Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, software design principles, and object-oriented programming.
  • Passionate about new technologies with the capability to implement them in existing products.
  • Demonstrates ownership mentality and strives for excellence in both technical work and team interactions.
  • Proficient in English.
