Job Overview
Pulse is currently seeking an experienced Band 5 Pharmacy Technician to join an Aseptic Services team in West Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a specialist NHS aseptic unit, supporting the preparation and quality assurance of critical medicines while contributing to the delivery of safe and effective patient care.
The successful candidate will have experience in NHS Aseptic Services or Technical Services and a strong understanding of aseptic preparation, quality standards, and cleanroom procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of aseptic pharmacy services in accordance with GMP standards and local procedures
- Prepare and dispense aseptic products safely and accurately
- Undertake cleanroom activities while adhering to quality assurance and infection control requirements
- Participate in accuracy checking and quality control processes
- Support environmental monitoring, validation, and quality assurance activities
- Maintain accurate documentation in line with regulatory and governance requirements
- Work collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians, and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of aseptic and technical services
Qualifications and Experience
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Experience working within NHS Aseptic Services or Technical Services
- Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), aseptic preparation, quality assurance principles, and cleanroom working
- Experience of accuracy checking within a pharmacy setting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Previous Band 5 NHS Pharmacy Technician experience
- Experience in chemotherapy, parenteral nutrition (PN), or CIVAS preparation (desirable)
- Familiarity with pharmacy manufacturing systems and quality management systems, such as QPulse (desirable)
- Experience of validation, environmental monitoring, or quality assurance activities (desirable)
