Nursery Cook/ Chef/ Kitchen manager

Banana Moon Tunbridge Wells is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Nursery Cook. This is an exciting opportunity to join a happy nursery where we focus on encouraging children to be children, learning through fun and engaging play. Job Purpose:

To ensure the preparation of a balanced, healthy nutritious and tasty diet for children, following the specifications set in Banana Moon seasonal recipes. Adhering to the Policies & Procedures of Banana Moon Day Nursery and in compliance with the Environmental Health-Food Safety, Health and Safety guidelines to contribute to ensuring highest possible Ofsted grading.

Requirements

Essential:

• Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 and 3
• Full driving licence and car
• Experience of implementing Health and Safety systems and hygienic practice
• Knowledge & understanding of religious and cultural preferences and dietary choices of children/families
• Knowledge & understanding of allergens
• DBS enhanced disclosure within the child workforce sector

Desirable:

• First Aid certificate
• Experience of working within a commercial kitchen environment
• Catering Qualifications
• Experience of implementing allergy management systems
• Experience of managing costs and wastage to run a financially astute menu
• Past experience within the early years sector with an early years qualification
