The Technical Director - MEP, Utilities & Infrastructure for the Sport Business Unit at Qiddiya Investment Company will lead the technical planning, design, and execution of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) systems, utilities, and infrastructure within the sports facilities. This leadership role requires extensive experience in MEP engineering and infrastructure management, ensuring delivery of world-class, efficient, and sustainable systems that support the operational needs of the sport venues and overall business unit objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for all MEP, utilities, and infrastructure design and implementation across sports projects.
  • Develop and enforce standards, guidelines, and best practices for MEP and utilities systems ensuring compliance with local and international codes and regulations.
  • Coordinate closely with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated and efficient system designs.
  • Manage supplier and contractor performance to ensure high-quality installation and commissioning of MEP and infrastructure systems.
  • Lead risk assessments, feasibility studies, and value engineering exercises to optimize system design and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor project progress, troubleshoot technical challenges, and ensure timely delivery within budget.
  • Promote sustainable design and energy-efficient solutions aligned with environmental objectives.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, tender documents, and contract packages related to MEP and infrastructure works.
  • Ensure safe work practices and regulatory compliance during all phases of project execution.
  • Mentor and develop engineering teams, fostering high standards of technical excellence.
  • Collaborate with business unit leadership to align technical strategies with overall organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in MEP, utilities, and infrastructure design and management, preferably within large-scale sports or entertainment projects.
  • Proven track record in managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex infrastructure projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of local and international engineering codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder management.
  • Experience with sustainable engineering practices and innovative technologies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • Familiarity with relevant design and analysis software tools.
