Qualifications

  • Analytic and problem solving/process improvement skills: Ability to learn quickly and solve poorly defined problems.
  • Verbal and written skill: Ability to create high quality written products that are comprehensive, accurate, and tailored to the audience.
  • Interpersonal skills: Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization with excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Organizational skills: Ability to manage multiple demands and changing priorities.
  • Experience: Knowledge of risk frameworks and their application to a technology division within financial services.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Use core Java to build and enhance trading strategies and engines
  • Work closely with global trading, quant, and IT teams
  • Contribute to a diverse project portfolio including new and existing algorithm development, system performance improvements, and trading signal/data analysis
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment
  • Develop high-volume, low-latency, resilient, and scalable message-driven systems using modern Java technologies

Required Skills

  • Strong Core Java knowledge in a UNIX/Linux environment
  • Ability to analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into well-designed solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a global team
  • Experience with Git/Stash and Jenkins
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit)
  • Interest in learning the business domain
  • Solid Linux fundamentals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in automated market making, DMA, or algorithmic trading in liquid markets (equities, FX, rates) using FIX protocol
  • Experience with web services (REST), TypeScript, preferably Angular
  • Experience with low-latency messaging and pub/sub technologies
  • Experience with time-series data analysis (e.g., KDB/q)
