The Pharmacist team at Walrus Health is expanding!

The Walrus clinical pharmacist provides a range of clinical services to our members based on data-driven, member and pharmacist clinical insights. The pharmacist’s impact helps to reduce healthcare costs, manage disease states, and improve outcomes.

The Walrus clinical pharmacist role differs from other clinical pharmacist responsibilities in part due to the ongoing nature of the relationship with the member and the use of a digital channel. In addition, the Walrus pharmacist oversees our product to ensure alignment with established clinical guidelines while taking into account individual needs as well as a plan’s formulary and benefit design.

Responsibilities

  • Review claims information and automated clinical opportunities to make evidence-based recommendations.
  • Assist members to download and use the Walrus app.
  • Conduct digital clinical engagements with members. 
  • Refer members to employer sponsored programs as appropriate.
  • Make therapy recommendations to providers.
  • Work collaboratively with other Walrus team members on aligned projects.
  • Assist in the development of internal clinical and member-facing products.
  • Participate in client and prospect calls as needed.
  • Provide clinical coverage outside of normal work hours as needed.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must hold a PharmD or equivalent advanced degree and be a licensed and registered pharmacist in good standing in a US state. Must also work in a US state.
  • Residency trained (PGY-1 or  PGY-2).
  • 2+ years experience interacting with patients and clinicians.
  • Be able to analyze data and exercise good judgment.
  • Possess strong verbal, listening and written communication skills.
  • Must be computer literate with proficiency in database and reporting tools.
  • Excellent understanding of pharmaceutical therapy and direct patient care.
  • Solid knowledge of drug administration and disease state management.
  • This is a remote position but must agree to travel as needed.
  • Must possess an understanding of how an ongoing digital relationship with a member can help the member get better results from their drug therapies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Multi-state licensure
  • Experience in digital health
  • Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Specialty Certification (BCACP)
