About the Role 

Datacom is looking for a commercially focused Inside Sales Representative to join our Product Solutions Group. 

You will manage and grow an assigned portfolio of customers and prospects while identifying new opportunities across Datacom's broad portfolio of Product Solution offerings. Working closely with other Account Managers, Business Development Managers, Solution Specialists, and vendor partners, you will drive revenue and gross profit growth through proactive customer engagement, account management, solution selling, and business development activities. 

While the role will have a strong focus on Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft 365, Copilot, Azure, and Security solutions, you will support customers across a wide range of hardware, software, cloud, networking, security, end-user computing, and Datacom services offerings. 

What You'll Do 

Customer & Account Growth 

  • Manage and develop an assigned portfolio of existing customers and prospects. 
  • Build strong relationships with customer stakeholders and become a trusted advisor. 
  • Identify opportunities to expand customer engagement across Datacom's product solutions portfolio. 
  • Collaborate with other Datacom sales teams to maximise customer outcomes and growth opportunities. 
  • Maintain regular customer engagement through phone, email, virtual meetings, and face-to-face interactions where appropriate. 

New Business Development 

  • Generate new opportunities through prospecting, referrals, vendor programs, and marketing campaigns. 
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline. 
  • Identify and pursue opportunities within both existing and net-new customers. 
  • Support strategic growth initiatives aligned with Datacom and vendor priorities. 

Solution Selling & Commercial Management 

  • Understand customer business challenges and align technology solutions to desired outcomes. 
  • Position and sell solutions across Datacom's broad technology portfolio. 
  • Work with technical specialists and vendor partners to develop customer solutions. 
  • Prepare quotations and proposals, manage opportunities through the sales cycle, and negotiate within approved commercial frameworks. 
  • Maintain accurate CRM, forecasting, and pipeline records while coordinating internal resources to ensure successful customer outcomes.

What We're Looking For 

Experience 

  • Experience in technology sales, inside sales, account management, or business development. 
  • Proven ability to build pipeline, develop customer relationships, and achieve sales targets. 
  • Experience in an ICT reseller, distributor, vendor, or managed services environment is advantageous.

Knowledge 

  • Broad understanding of ICT products, services, and technology solutions. 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft technologies such as Microsoft 365, Copilot, Azure, and Security solutions is highly desirable. 
  • Understanding of the New Zealand technology market and channel ecosystem.

Skills 

  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management capability. 
  • Proactive sales, prospecting, and opportunity development skills. 
  • Commercial acumen and negotiation capability. 
  • Ability to identify customer needs and align technology solutions to business outcomes. 
  • Strong organisational, pipeline management, communication, and time-management skills.
