The Paxos IT Team plays a crucial role in supporting our growing global business by enabling seamless technology experiences for all employees. The team is responsible for deploying, supporting, and securing devices and applications across a hybrid environment, both in-office and remotely. As Paxos expands its workforce and services, the IT function is critical to ensuring operational excellence and security for every Paxonian.

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Senior IT Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be a technical anchor, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the critical systems that power our business. You will tackle our most complex technical challenges, own impactful projects from end-to-end, and serve as a mentor to other engineers. The ideal candidate is a deep subject matter expert who not only solves today's problems but also anticipates future needs, aligning technology with our long-term business strategy.

What you'll do 

• Architect & Build: Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable solutions within multiple IT systems (e.g. Jamf, Intune, Okta, Jira, Google Workspace)

• Solve Complex Problems: Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex, multi-system issues, performing thorough root cause analysis to implement fixes that prevent recurrence.

• Drive Improvement: Proactively identify performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and single points of failure, and design automated solutions to remediate them.

• Own Key Projects: Take complete ownership of the project lifecycle for key initiatives, from initial design and planning through to deployment, monitoring, and post-launch support.

• Mentor & Collaborate: Formally mentor junior engineers to elevate the team's skillset, and act as a technical representative for the team in cross-functional discussions to ensure alignment and drive sound decisions.

• Establish Best Practices: Help define and document team standards for engineering excellence, testing, and operational readiness.

About you

• 5+ years of proven experience architecting, deploying, and managing the lifecycle of core IT platforms. You are a subject matter expert (SME) in one or more of the following: Okta, Jira, Google Workspace, Jamf.

• Hands-on experience developing robust automation and integrations using scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash).

• Deep practical knowledge of modern IAM principles.

• Extensive experience managing a hybrid fleet of macOS endpoints at scale. You can engineer and enforce security baselines (CIS or similar), configuration profiles, and zero-touch deployment for a globally distributed and remote workforce using JAMF Pro.

• A security-first approach demonstrated through technical application. You have hands-on experience implementing and managing security controls and platforms.

• Ability to architect durable and scalable systems by evaluating, testing, and recommending emerging technologies. You can create technical roadmaps, document design decisions, and clearly articulate the trade-offs between different solutions in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
