About the role
Brainlabs is the media agency built to answer one question: what's actually driving profit? Founded in 2012 by Daniel Gilbert, we were built by engineers before we were a media agency. Today, 1,000+ Brainlabbers across five continents use our proprietary agents, built on 32 media tools and over 2,500 logged experiments, to help brands connect every channel they plan and buy to one thing: the bottom line.
What You'll Do:
- Own delivery of data science workstreams end-to-end, from scoping and modeling through to communicating results to internal stakeholders.
- Apply supervised and unsupervised ML techniques, NLP, and AI/ML frameworks to real marketing analytics problems, not just oversee others doing it.
- Manage and mentor a small team of data scientists, providing technical guidance, career development support, and day-to-day prioritization.
- Contribute to the NAMER Data Science capability roadmap by identifying gaps, piloting new methods, and translating findings into repeatable approaches the team can build on.
- Collaborate with analytics, engineering, and account leads to scope and structure projects, making sure the data science work connects clearly to business outcomes.
- Stay current on advances in LLMs, deep learning, and marketing measurement, and bring relevant developments into the team's toolkit.
Who You Are:
What We Really Want:
- Someone who's past the pure IC stage but still loves the craft. You're as comfortable writing Python as you are reviewing someone else's model architecture and giving them useful, direct feedback. You've delivered complex data science projects and you're ready to start building the people around you.
What Particular Set of Skills Would Suit This Role:
- 2-5 years in data science, with at least 2 years in marketing analytics or a related applied domain.
- Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar).
- Solid grounding in modeling fundamentals: regression, classification, clustering, time-series, and experimental design.
- Familiarity with LLMs and NLP tooling, with some practical experience applying them to real problems.
- Experience working with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and basic data engineering pipelines.
- A track record of explaining technical work clearly to non-technical colleagues.
- Some experience managing or mentoring others, formally or informally.
- Design and deliver media measurement solutions including Marketing Mix Modeling and incrementality testing.
How You Succeed:
You're succeeding when your team ships well and you're still shipping too. The work coming out of your area is technically sound, clearly communicated, and visibly useful to the people relying on it. You're growing the people around you while continuing to grow yourself, and the practice is stronger because you're in it.
What happens next?
We know searching for a job is tough and that you want to find the best career and employer for you. We also want to ensure that this position is the best fit for both you and us. Therefore, you will participate in a comprehensive interview process that includes skills interviews with our team. The goal of this process is to allow you to get to know us as we learn more about you.
