Companies Mark III Construction Energy Solutions Manager

About the role

Mark III Construction · Onsite

Mark III Construction's Service division is seeking an Energy Solutions Manager to build and lead a new energy services practice from the ground up. This is a senior individual contributor role with a clear path to leading a standalone profit center as the practice scales.

The Energy Solutions Manager will be responsible for identifying, selling, and delivering energy audit and retrofit solutions to commercial and industrial building owners across all M3 Service markets. Starting with energy audits, lighting retrofits, and mechanical/electrical efficiency upgrades, this person will progressively build the practice toward full performance contracting capability over 24 months.

This role sits at the intersection of technical expertise and commercial acumen. The ideal candidate can walk a building with an engineer's eye, quantify energy waste and ROI for an owner, navigate utility rebate programs, and close six-figure projects. They must be equally comfortable presenting to a facilities manager and a CFO.

Why This Role Exists

M3 Service is transforming from a reactive break/fix operation into a proactive Performance Partner. Energy solutions is the highest-margin, most differentiated product line in this transformation. Building owners are under increasing pressure from rising energy costs, electrification mandates, ESG requirements, and aging infrastructure. M3 is uniquely positioned to serve these owners because we already maintain their mechanical and electrical systems through our PMA relationships, giving us unmatched visibility into their buildings' performance and needs.

This role will leverage M3's existing customer base, MEP Construction relationships, and multi-trade service capability to build an energy practice that becomes a standalone profit center within 18-24 months.

Who we are:

Mark III is a full-service construction company comprised of three complementary business units: M3 MEP, M3 Service, and M3 Components. We support projects from initial concept through long-term maintenance, with specialized expertise in healthcare, higher education, industrial, life science, and technology markets.

Our integrated, big-picture approach allows us to self-perform electrical, HVAC, plumbing, process piping, prefabrication, and MEP design. By consolidating these services under one organization, clients benefit from reduced profit layers, minimized scope gaps, and simplified project schedules—working with a single, accountable partner rather than multiple consultants and subcontractors.

Headquartered in Sacramento, California, Mark III operates throughout California and Nevada. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility serves as a centralized hub supporting five core trades: HVAC, mechanical piping, plumbing, electrical, and metal-stud framing. To support our continued growth, we will be relocating from our current combined 62,000 square feet of office and operational space to a new 340,000-square-foot headquarters at 2031 Optisolar Lane, with the move planned for completion by the end of Q2 2026.
