Operations & Finance Analyst

Position type Full-time contractor (~40 hrs/week)

Location Remote

Working hours 8:00-4:30 MST

We are hiring an Operations & Finance Analyst to own the financial and operational backbone of our teams and help run our growing network of managed entities around the world.

This is a hands-on role at the intersection of finance operations, data analysis, and project coordination. You will run payroll and tax payments, produce invoices and operational reports that leadership relies on, and serve as the coordination hub that keeps our international entities running smoothly.

We are a lean, fast-moving organization, so we are looking for someone who is genuinely proactive—the kind of person who not only keeps the trains running but also identifies better ways to improve processes and surfaces valuable insights from data without being asked.

In this role, you will work closely with our US-based executive team, company leadership across multiple countries, our clients, and our external legal and accounting partners.

What you'll do

Finance & payroll operations

• Run biweekly payroll across our deployed teams, partnering with managers to get it accurate and on time.

• Prepare and process tax payments accurately and on schedule.

• Produce biweekly client invoices

• Maintain backup payroll and invoice-preview files.

• Reconcile payroll and billing, and keep GAAP/billing documentation organized and audit-ready.

• Pull the information needed to create contracts from source files and support contract creation.

Reporting, data & insight

• Update daily attendance flagging exceptions for manager review.

• Maintain team rosters as new team members join, including sensitive fields managers do not have access to.

• Refresh the Springboard Dashboard each week ahead of the leadership meeting.

• Build and own the Capacity Plan.

• Produce ad-hoc reports and analyses as projects require.

• Proactively surface insights from our operational and financial data and make recommendations to leadership.

Global entity coordination (growing)

• Act as the central coordination point for our managed entities. One to two today, with more on the way.

• Drive onboarding and offboarding processes for team members end to end.

• Coordinate facilities needs.

• Liaise with our local attorney and accountant partners. Routing items, following up, and keeping things on track, while escalating major legal or financial decisions to leadership.

Make us better

• Find better ways for us to operate and put them in place, streamlining and automating repetitive work wherever you can.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of experience blending data analysis and project management or coordination.

• Solid finance literacy: hands-on comfort with payroll, invoicing, basic accounting and GAAP concepts, and tax-payment workflows. A formal accounting degree is not required, but demonstrated finance-operations experience is.

• Advanced Google Sheets / Excel skills — pivot tables, complex formulas, and clean dashboards — paired with an automation mindset.

• Strong written English and clear, comfortable spoken English for live coordination with US stakeholders and external partners.

• Working US hours 8:00-4:30 MST

• Highly proactive and detail-oriented, with sound judgment and discretion handling sensitive payroll and personnel data.

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, data, or a related field preferred — equivalent hands-on experience accepted.

Nice to have

• QuickBooks experience.

• Experience with Deel and/or Cadana.

• Experience with global contractor payroll and/or international entity operations.

• Automation and scripting experience (e.g., Google Apps Script, macros) and familiarity with modern AI tools for streamlining work.

• SQL and/or a BI tool (Looker, Power BI, Tableau).

• Availability across full US business hours.

Benefits

  • Remote Work: Work from anywhere—our team is global, and we value work-life balance.
  • Growth Opportunities: As a key player i you’ll have the chance to shape your role and grow with us.
  • Innovative Culture: Join a team that is passionate about leveraging data to solve challenges and drive success in a rapidly evolving market.

As part of our recruitment process, all candidates are kindly asked to read, understand, and agree to Lago's confidentiality and Non-circumvention agreement . This ensures a respectful and professional experience for everyone involved.
