The IT Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to end-users, resolving IT-related issues, and maintaining computer systems and networks. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software problems, installing and configuring IT equipment, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network issues. Respond to support tickets and ensure timely resolution
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to computer systems, networks, printers, and other IT equipment. Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications. Perform routine system updates and software installations.
- Assist with network setup and maintenance, including routers, switches, and wireless access points. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
- Set up new stores and warehouses from procurement to on-site delivery of the project.
- Set up new user accounts, configure workstations, and ensure proper access rights. Deactivate user accounts upon off-boarding.
- Maintain accurate records of IT support activities, including support tickets, equipment inventory, and configuration details. Update IT documentation as needed.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to address technical issues and improve IT support processes.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure a positive user experience. Follow up with end-users to confirm issue resolution and gather feedback.
- Follow IT security policies and protocols to ensure data protection and compliance with industry regulations. Report security incidents or vulnerabilities to senior IT staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in a similar role will be considered as an asset.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware and software systems.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
- Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
