About the role
What we're building
Xsolla Subscriptions is a subscription monetization engine for games that covers the full lifecycle. Publishers use it to power battle passes, premium memberships, season passes, and other recurring mechanics — creating plans, running trials, and handling renewals, failed payments, and cancellations. Track subscribers, churn, and revenue in one place. As merchant of record, Xsolla also covers global recurring payments, tax, refunds, and chargebacks.
The team owns that whole surface: plans and pricing, renewals and retry logic, trials and grace periods, churn and recovery, and the subscriber and publisher experience.
The role
You own the Subscriptions roadmap. Your core job runs end to end: research and discovery, prioritization, pushing work into development, delivery, and then educating the sales team and preparing the documentation that ships with each release.
That means staying close to the publishers who run subscription businesses on Xsolla and to their subscribers. You find what moves retention and revenue, decide what gets built and in what order, and drive it from idea through delivery and adoption.
Subscriptions depend on many products across Xsolla. You'll work with a tech lead and engineers, and coordinate across Payments, Anti-fraud, Auth, Catalog, Shop Builder, LiveOps, Analytics, and others.

What you'll do
Research and discovery. Study competitors, interview publishers and partners to uncover their needs, and dig into subscriber and payment data to find what's worth building.
Collect requirements and design features. Turn findings into clear requirements and feature designs.
Own the roadmap. Decide what gets built, in what order, and why. Maintain a clear rationale the team and stakeholders can rely on.
Deliver and coordinate. Drive features to production and keep the cross-product dependencies moving.
Post-delivery support. Support marketing materials preparation, train the sales team, and prepare integration-team materials and public documentation.
What we're looking for
4+ years in product, with real time on subscription, billing, or payments products.
A solid understanding of subscription economics and lifecycle, ideally in games — battle passes, premium memberships, season passes, and others.
Comfort with billing mechanics: renewals, proration, dunning and retry, grace periods, refunds, chargebacks, and tax.
A track record of taking features from research to shipped, and making prioritization calls without full information.
Systems thinking: you understand how a pricing or billing decision compounds across many publishers and their subscribers.
Daily use of AI tools is assumed and expected. It is a significant plus if you have a strategic vision for applying machine learning to core subscription challenges—such as churn prediction, retry timing, and dynamic pricing—or possess hands-on experience in the field.
Why this team
Subscriptions are one of the fastest-growing forms of monetization in games — predictable revenue, low overhead, strong loyalty — and now outpace one-off and in-game purchases in growth. Small gains in recovery or conversion have a huge impact across thousands of publishers. You'll own a high-impact product with direct visibility to engineering and business leadership.
