We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role is ideal for a self-starter with a strong foundation in public accounting who is eager to apply their skills in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and will have opportunities to contribute to process improvement, technology adoption, and broader finance initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close activities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reporting
- Coordinate with external tax advisors on federal, state, and local tax matters; verify timely payments, maintain organized tax records, and book related journal entries
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate coding and reporting of financial transactions
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Leverage technology and AI-powered tools to streamline accounting workflows
- Maintain and improve processes within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Support external audits and liaise with auditors as needed
- Assist the Senior Manager with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience, with a preference for public accounting experience at a Top 8 public accounting firm
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail with ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exposure to AI tools and interest in applying them to finance workflows
- CPA or CPA candidate
Preferred
- Industry accounting experience (combination of public + industry is preferred)
- Tax accounting experience (corporate, partnership, or multi-state)
- Familiarity with revenue accounting (ASC 606)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP
- Familiarity with Claude
