About the role

D2M SERVICES

As part of its technical assistance activities in the shipbuilding sector, d2m Services is recruiting a Site Manager to support an OSV newbuild project .

The Site Manager will represent the charterer throughout the project, ensuring technical compliance, quality standards, and schedule adherence. The role requires close coordination with engineering teams, shipyards, suppliers, and classification societies from design approval to commissioning and final delivery.

Main Responsibilities

1. Project Preparation & Plan Approval

  • Review and validate technical specifications and contractual documents
  • Coordinate with engineering teams and prepare supervision and reporting tools
  • Participate in technical meetings with shipyard, classification society, and suppliers
  • Validate structural, systems, propulsion, electrical, and arrangement plans
  • Manage deviations and technical non-conformities prior to construction start

2. Hull Construction

  • Daily supervision of hull construction according to approved plans
  • Quality inspections, material checks, weld verification, and block tests
  • Manage schedule deviations and report to the client
  • Ensure compliance with safety rules and Class / Flag requirements

3. Outfitting & Systems Integration

  • Supervise installation of main systems, propulsion, auxiliary equipment, and electrical integration
  • Monitor outfitting works: accommodation, HVAC, automation, navigation, and specialized equipment
  • Oversee commissioning and system tests (FAT / HAT / SAT)
  • Coordinate with international suppliers and participate in sea trials and final acceptance

Requirements

  • Naval Architect & Marine Engineer (minimum 10 years of experience)
  • Demonstrated expertise in naval architecture, shipbuilding, site management, project management, and yard supervision
  • Experience in building cable-laying vessels is advantageous
  • Strong operational capabilities and comprehensive knowledge of shipbuilding procedures and classification society standards
  • Competence in managing teams across multiple sites and serving as the client's representative with shipyards and technical partners
  • Good skills in communication, coordination, and reporting
  • French language required (spoken and written)

  • Start: January / February 2026
  • Duration: approx. 18 months, with possible extension
  • Phase 1 – Paris (4–6 months): project preparation and plan approval
  • Phase 2 – Eastern Europe: hull construction supervision
  • Phase 3 – Northern Europe ( Norway/Finland) : outfitting and systems integration
