We are searching for a Mechanical Engineer based in Ensenada, Mexico. In this role, you will be responsible for the mechanical design of amplifier,  pedals, pro audio and accessories from concept through release to manufacturing. Additionally, you will ensure that designs meet Product Management requirements, as well as R&D design standards. As a Mechanical Engineer II, you will also need to work with Manufacturing on new designs to assure manufacturability, and provide technical support on products already in production.

Essential Functions:

  • Design, analysis, and testing of Amplifier, Pedal and Accessory products to ensure that they meet marketing and engineering requirements.
  • Utilize prototype technology to produce testable prototypes early in development.
  • Design and build test fixtures as necessary for reliability testing
  • Host and participate in design reviews for all R&D Projects
  • Work closely with other mechanical engineers, industrial designers, drafters, electrical engineers, project management, product management, purchasing, and manufacturing engineers as well as OEM engineers.
  • Attend evening meetings with overseas OEM factories
  • Evaluate First Article Samples
  • Perform Tolerance Analysis on critical product features
  • Perform Solidworks Simulation studies
  • Additional duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree with 3-5 years of product development experience.
  • 3-5 years of significant experience in related Electro-Mechanical design
  • Strong Solidworks skills, surfacing and sheet metal experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of FEA tools, Solidworks Simulation preferred
  • Design, analysis and problem solving skills sufficient to design, with some supervision
  • Basic understanding of electronic circuitry and PCBA standards preferred.
  • Experience designing plastic and sheet metal components
  • Solid understanding of woodworking tools
  • Ability and willingness to work in the shop and get your hands dirty building prototypes, test samples and test fixtures.
  • Good technical and non-technical communication skills
  • Basic project planning skills
  • Musical background is a plus, particularly guitar and related products
