Scope of the Job
- Guest Relations: Welcome members by name and greet new guests warmly to set a positive tone.
- Inquiry Management: Answer high-volume phone lines, taking messages and handling general inquiries or deliveries.
- Reservations & Seating: Manage reservations via OpenTable for the club. Ensure all anticipated covers are accounted for and tables are ready.
- Floor Support: Assist Food & Beverage managers with service execution and handle guest-list duties across multiple levels.
- Problem Solving: Support, redirect, and resolve guest concerns in real time.
- Membership Liaison: Build relationships with members, manage expectations, and forward feedback or issues to the Membership team.
- Operations & Care: Maintain a clean, safe desk and reception area while managing the coat check closet.
- Team Development: Train junior reception team members on Soho House process and service standards.
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience in a high-volume receptionist or hosting role.
- Systems: Proficiency with OpenTable is required. Experience with Salesforce and Opera is a plus.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain strict discretion.
- Work Style: Exceptionally detail-oriented, articulate, and capable of multitasking in a demanding environment.
- Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Stand and work on your feet for at least 8 hours in a fast-paced environment.
- Move quickly between different areas of the club, both indoors and outdoors.
- Move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds.
- Seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.
- Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch, and climb.
