We are currently seeking a Court Paralegal (Removal Defense) to join our legal department in a 100% remote capacity.
Requirements
The Court Paralegal (Removal Defense) is a highly specialized legal support role within our Immigration Court department. This position is responsible for managing removal and deportation defense cases from start to finish under attorney supervision, ensuring strict compliance with court deadlines, precision in exhibit organization, and seamless communication with clients, Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) courts, and DHS/OPLA.
Operating under an unyielding "Above the Line" mindset, you will take full ownership of your portfolio, demonstrating deep technical knowledge in litigation procedures, advanced forms, and—above all—the creation of high-quality, legally robust motions with minimal supervision. Every motion drafted and every deadline secured directly advances our mission: to change one million lives.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Technical Knowledge: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in Court proceedings, Removal Defense, Motions, Adjustment of Status (AOS), and assisting detained clients. Comprehensive, in-depth expertise in handling forms for Asylum, Removal, SIJS, and Bond requests.
- Language Proficiency: Bilingual (B2 - C1 level) in English and Spanish. Essential technical and linguistic ability to translation complex legal concepts from English to Spanish in an empathetic manner for the client, and to draft formal motions in English addressed to immigration judges.
- Legal Skills: Excellent legal research skills, advanced technical writing, detailed analysis of criminal/biographical backgrounds (FBI, FOIA), and meticulous organization of court files and evidence.
