About the role
About fin-house
We build human-first finance teams for ambitious, fast-growth businesses. Embedded fractional teams that feel like our clients' own - from day-to-day operations to board-level strategy.
We believe finance should be a growth engine, not a back-office function. And we believe great fractional CFOs are made, not born. We bring contractors into fin-leadership work, then back them to step up into fractional CFO seats with us when they're ready.
The role
You'll head up finance across a portfolio of fin-house clients. The trusted finance voice in the room - for founders, leadership teams and boards.
Forecasting, planning, commercial insight, modelling, team leadership. Challenging founders' thinking, assessing risk, shaping decisions. Connecting day-to-day performance with long-term strategy. The full fin-lead remit, on a contractor basis.
The route to fractional CFO
This is for experienced finance operators who want the portfolio exposure that turns a senior finance leader into a credible fractional CFO - without waiting years for the right in-house opportunity.
You'll lead finance across multiple ambitious businesses in parallel. You'll work directly with founders on fundraising, scaling and the hard calls. You'll build the breadth of context, the founder-room confidence and the commercial track record that fractional CFO work demands.
And when you're ready, we'll back you to step up into a fractional CFO seat with us - with the brand, the introductions and the support behind you.
What you'll lead
Reporting and commercial storytelling across P&L, balance sheet and cashflow; budgets, forecasts and sophisticated modelling for fundraising, M&A and strategic planning; AP, AR, payroll and VAT across your portfolio; Xero standards and best practice; line management and coaching of up to three fin-managers.
