The Role

As the Manager of Business Systems at Capella, you will lead the strategy, ownership, and evolution of critical enterprise platforms supporting a fast-growing aerospace technology organization operating within a highly regulated ITAR, CMMC, and compliance-driven environment.

In this role, you will provide direct leadership for the Business Systems team while operating as both a Business Systems leader and Product Owner, driving initiatives across ERP, CRM, PLM, MES, and enterprise integration platforms that support Capella's business operations and future growth.

You will provide direct leadership and development for the Business Systems team, including coaching, performance management, prioritization, and stakeholder alignment, while fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment. You will partner closely with Finance, Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, IT, Security, and external vendors to ensure enterprise platforms and integrations remain scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives.

This role is responsible for supporting and optimizing critical platforms including NetSuite, Boomi, Salesforce, HubSpot, Aras, ION, and related enterprise systems. The successful candidate will balance technical depth with leadership, helping guide architecture decisions, integration strategies, compliance initiatives, and enterprise systems roadmaps while enabling the team to execute effectively.

The ideal candidate brings experience leading enterprise systems teams in regulated aerospace, defense, government contracting, or advanced manufacturing environments, strong enterprise integration expertise, Product Owner experience, and the ability to bridge business stakeholders with technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant solutions.

This is a fully remote role with occasional travel requirements based on project and vendor needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct people leadership for the Business Systems team, including hiring, coaching, performance reviews, career development, workload prioritization, and removal of organizational roadblocks.
  • Serve as Product Owner and systems owner for critical enterprise platforms including ERP, CRM, PLM, MES, and enterprise integration technologies.
  • Own and prioritize enterprise systems roadmaps, balancing operational support, technical debt reduction, compliance initiatives, and strategic business projects.
  • Lead and support enterprise integrations across NetSuite, Boomi, Salesforce, HubSpot, Aras, ION, and other business-critical platforms.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, IT, Security, and external vendors to align systems strategy with business needs.
  • Support and improve integrations across ERP, CRM, finance, manufacturing, inventory, and operational systems.
  • Partner with Security, Compliance, and Audit stakeholders to support ITAR, CMMC, SOX, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure enterprise systems and integrations maintain audit readiness, documentation standards, and appropriate controls.
  • Lead business and technical requirements gathering efforts for new systems implementations, integrations, and workflow redesign initiatives.
  • Drive architecture discussions, technical decision-making, and systems modernization initiatives across the enterprise.
  • Establish processes that improve team capacity management, workload prioritization, and delivery execution across break/fix support and strategic initiatives.
  • Support enterprise systems modernization, data integration, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Enterprise Systems, Business Systems, ERP, Enterprise Applications, or Systems Integration functions.
  • 3+ years of direct people leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, and team development.
  • Experience serving as a Product Owner, Business Systems Manager, Enterprise Applications Manager, Technical Program Manager, or Systems Integration leader.
  • Hands-on experience supporting ERP platforms such as NetSuite and enterprise integration platforms such as Boomi, MuleSoft, or similar iPaaS technologies.
  • Experience supporting enterprise platforms including ERP, CRM, PLM, MES, and related business applications.
  • Ability to balance technical systems ownership, enterprise integrations, and people leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within aerospace, defense, government contracting, or other regulated environments.
  • Experience supporting compliance initiatives involving ITAR, CMMC, SOX, NIST, CUI, or similar governance frameworks.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise integrations, digital transformation initiatives, or enterprise systems modernization efforts.

Required Qualification

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Capella employees must be a U.S. citizen, lawful U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce, as applicable.

Compensation

The approximate base salary range for this position is $128,445 - $167,497. The total compensation package includes base salary, bonus, equity, and a range of benefits available on our career site.

 

Compensation will vary based on individual factors such as education, qualifications, and experience of the final candidate(s), specific office location, and calibration against relevant market data and internal team equity.  Posted base salary figures are subject to change as new market data becomes available. Our benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans, matching 401K, unlimited PTO and paid holidays, parental/adoption leave, legal insurance, and a home technology stipend.  Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided when a candidate receives an offer of employment.
