Position Overview

Diligent is looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior Software Engineer with strong fullstack expertise across modern web frontend and cloud-native backend development, designing and delivering scalable Angular applications and secure, high-performing services built in C# / .NET on AWS.

You will play a key role in leading technical decisions, delivering production-ready features end-to-end, mentoring other engineers across the team, and using AI-powered tools responsibly to improve engineering productivity, quality, and team effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, code, review, test, and deliver assigned features and user stories in accordance with Diligent’s agile development practices
  • Build and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing fullstack solutions across Angular frontend applications and C# / .NET backend services
  • Produce high-level technical design artifacts for major stories, features, and architectural changes
  • Influence the future-state architecture of the product, including micro-frontend decomposition, service boundaries, event-driven integrations, and prototyping new approaches
  • Own services and features end-to-end, from development through deployment, monitoring, support, and continuous improvement
  • Contribute to the quality assurance and testing strategy for assigned work, including unit, integration, and automated tests, and support acceptance and regression testing as needed
  • Partner effectively with Product, UX, Security, DevOps, Production Operations, and other engineering teams to ensure smooth delivery of working software to production
  • Apply AI tools to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, and prototyping while critically validating outputs to ensure quality, security, and fitness for purpose
  • Advise on appropriate AI usage in engineering workflows, including prompt patterns, privacy and ethical considerations, and residual risk documentation where needed
  • Ensure all work is carried out and documented in accordance with required standards, methods, and procedures to support knowledge retention and reuse
  • Keep internal systems and engineering records up to date with the latest development activity
  • Plan and manage your own workflow effectively to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes
  • Attend and actively contribute to Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, and Retrospective meetings
  • Drive continuous improvement by making practical recommendations at team retrospectives and through day-to-day engineering leadership
  • Support and mentor other team members, helping them grow their technical knowledge while continuing to develop your own

Required Experience and Skills

  • Degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a similar discipline
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in a commercial software environment
  • Strong experience in a hands-on development role delivering changes to large and complex products
  • Proven experience building scalable Angular applications in production environments
  • Strong frontend development skills with Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, RxJS, and state management approaches such as NgRx or Redux
  • Strong backend development experience with C#, modern .NET, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, and RESTful APIs using OpenAPI / Swagger
  • Experience designing secure, scalable cloud-native services, preferably on AWS
  • Solid understanding of Clean Architecture, CQRS / MediatR, and event-driven design patterns
  • Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL data stores, including schema design, performance tuning, and access-pattern-driven modeling
  • Good understanding of responsive design, usability, accessibility, and frontend best practices
  • Commitment to producing well-tested, maintainable, and well-documented code
  • Strong code review, mentoring, refactoring, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in agile teams, providing estimates, and communicating progress effectively
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Familiarity with source control systems, especially Git and GitHub, and common branching models such as GitFlow
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and modern software delivery practices
  • Awareness of AI-assisted software development, including prompt sensitivity, hallucinations, and safe versus unsafe uses of AI-generated output
  • Experience using AI tools to support coding, debugging, testing, documentation, or prototyping, with sound engineering judgment and critical review of outputs
  • Passion for delivering value to customers and improving team processes

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Experience with micro-frontend architecture
  • Experience with Nx and Angular Material
  • Experience with AWS services such as ECS/Fargate, Lambda, SQS, SNS/EventBridge, S3, DynamoDB, and Step Functions
  • Experience with infrastructure as code such as AWS CDK or Terraform
  • Experience with Docker, GitHub Actions, and production monitoring / observability tooling
  • Experience with .NET Aspire for local orchestration and integration testing
  • Familiarity with distributed tracing, structured logging, and cloud observability tools
  • Exposure to gRPC, resilience patterns such as Polly, and progressive delivery or feature-flagging platforms
  • Understanding of security best practices including IAM, OAuth2 / OIDC, secrets management, encryption, and permission-based access control
  • Experience working in regulated markets
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, or Lean software development practices
  • Keen to learn and apply new languages, frameworks, and engineering tools
