Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Manager to relocate to Saudi Arabia and oversee the maintenance and repair of a fleet of vehicles and heavy-duty equipment. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, operational efficiency, safety compliance, and the effective management of maintenance resources and personnel.

The successful candidate will have strong technical expertise, proven leadership experience, and the ability to implement maintenance strategies that maximise equipment uptime while controlling costs and maintaining the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventative maintenance programmes.
  • Plan and schedule routine inspections, servicing, and repairs for vehicles and heavy-duty equipment.
  • Prioritise maintenance activities to minimise downtime and maximise operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules with operational requirements.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, supervise, and support a team of maintenance technicians and support staff.
  • Allocate workloads and ensure maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support ongoing skills development.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with relevant health, safety, environmental, and operational regulations.
  • Implement and enforce safe working practices and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance requirements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the maintenance department.

Budget & Cost Management

  • Develop and manage the maintenance budget.
  • Monitor expenditure and identify opportunities to optimise maintenance costs.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, and external service providers.
  • Ensure cost-effective procurement of parts, equipment, and maintenance services.

Equipment & Inventory Management

  • Oversee inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
  • Ensure critical components are readily available to minimise downtime.
  • Monitor equipment performance and recommend repairs, upgrades, or replacements where necessary.
  • Assist with the evaluation and procurement of new equipment.

Technical Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and equipment-related issues.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance personnel.
  • Stay informed of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and maintenance innovations.
  • Identify and implement initiatives to improve reliability, efficiency, and equipment lifespan.

Requirements

What you need:

  • Relevant technical qualification, engineering qualification, or trade certification will be highly advantageous.South African citizen willing and able to relocate to Saudi Arabia.
  • Proven experience in a Maintenance Manager, Workshop Manager, Fleet Maintenance Manager, or similar leadership role.
  • Strong experience maintaining vehicles, heavy-duty equipment, machinery, or fleet assets.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing preventative maintenance programmes.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with experience supervising technical teams.
  • Sound understanding of health and safety regulations and maintenance compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing maintenance budgets, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Strong problem-solving, diagnostic, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management systems and reporting.
