As we expand our operations within the UK, we are looking to launch and aggressively grow our commercial solar PV installation segment.

Role Overview

As a Solar Electrician for Fuse’s dedicated Solar PV division, you will be pivotal role in scaling a rapidly growing business line. This is a directly involved position suited to experienced Solar professionals with strong technical capabilities, project leadership skills and an established understanding of the Solar market.

You will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of residential & commercial projects, from initial proposal designs and grid applications through to installation oversight and commissioning, whilst contributing to the strategic expansion of the division.

Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Lead Solar PV projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget and technical requirements.
  • Manage through the operational lifecycle including planning, execution, monitoring and completion.
  • Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, local authorities and Distribution Network Operators (DNOs).
  • Conduct financial modelling for project feasibility and potential scenarios.

Technical Design:

  • Design optimised Solar PV systems across roof-mounted, ground-mounted, industrial or bespoke structures.
  • Produce technical designs, layouts and system specifications, while maintaining compliance with regulations as required.
  • Utilise software tools such as OpenSolar or PVSyst to model and optimise system yield and performance.

Grid Connections:

  • Liaise between relevant DNOs and clients to submit G98/G99 applications.
  • Manage the grid connections process from application through to approval and energisation.

Business Strategy:

  • Develop and grow the Solar PV division.
  • Identify commercial opportunities and analyse strategic partnerships, including supplier and contractor negotiations.
  • Leverage industry relationships to build a robust project pipeline across the Solar PV supply chain.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in residential and/or C&I Solar PV design and project management
  • Strong electrical background with demonstrable technical leadership
  • Experience managing grid connections for projects
  • 3+ years’ experience in the Solar sector
  • Track record of successfully delivered Solar PV projects
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work across the UK

Qualifications & Certifications

Essential

  • Full Level 3 Electrical Installation Qualification
  • City & Guilds 2382-22 (BS7671 Wiring Regulations)

Desirable

  • Dedicated Solar PV qualification – City & Guilds 2399 or EAL Solar PV

Benefits
