To support the expansion of our team, we are seeking to hire in Bangalore a dynamic and motivated PLC Software Design Engineer – Traction Power Systems

Requirements

Role Mission

As a PLC Software Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end software development lifecycle for Traction Power System customer projects. You will ensure that automation and protection solutions meet technical specifications, safety standards, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

·       Project Initiation: Actively participate in internal and external project kick-off meetings to define software requirements and project scope.

·       Technical Review: Analyze tender documents and customer specifications against company standards and cost calculations to ensure technical feasibility and alignment.

·       Software Development: Perform comprehensive PLC and HMI engineering, including the creation of logic flowcharts and PLC programming.

·       Application Design: Develop and configure software applications for PLCs and specialized Protection Relays, and potentially HMI interfaces.

·       Testing & Validation: Provide critical support to the production team during functional testing and lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) with customers when required.

·       Field & Commissioning Support: Support the commissioning team and provide remote or on-site troubleshooting for live projects at the request of the Project Manager.

·       Quality & Corrective Action: Investigate and implement corrective actions resulting from Non-Conformance Reports and returned goods.

·       Lifecycle Management: Follows the processes used by the company for application and software designs, ensuring all project documentation and code are systematically archived.

·       Client Communication: Provide technical responses and expertise to customer inquiries at the request of the Project Manager.

·       Knowledge Sharing: Interface with global teams to share knowledge and lessons learnt.

Candidate needs to demonstrate flexibility in his/her working hours to ensure effective collaboration with production sites and international stakeholders across different time zones.

Qualification and Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or Science
  • 5 years experience in PLC software development for specific projects

Skill:

  • Communication protocol knowledge (Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, IEC61850, IEC60870-104)
  • Network Architecture (Programmable switch)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, interacting with international colleagues (mainly Europe)
