As our Civil & Infrastructure division continues to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Civil Site Supervisor to join our Brisbane team. This rare opportunity has opened due to major project wins, internal promotions and a rapidly expanding tender pipeline.

About the role

The duties of the supervisor roles will be refined for the various level of supervisor that is required; however, the general expectations of a Site Supervisor will be:

  • Conducting site inspections to ensure quality and safety outcomes
  • Be responsible for co-ordinating subcontractors onsite
  • Managing a workforce of supervision, labour and subcontractors
  • You will need to work autonomously at times and also coordinate internal and external resources
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to our high standards.
  • Maintain and communication regular program updates to the project team and subcontractors
  • Maintain daily records and diaries, and assist the engineering team with cost control and productivity tracking.
  • Co-ordinate the relationships between various trades and ensure that sub-contractors carry work out safely and efficiently.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders in a professional manner to maintain Alder’s strong reputation.
  • Participate in regular WHS inspections and injury/incident investigations and maintain a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Ensure environmental controls are suitable and implemented, monitored and reviewed.
  • Review, understand and have input to all subcontractor and supplier scope of works.
  • Organise completion of defect works in a timely manner.
  • Participate in lesson learnt sessions to continuously improve the performance of the overall company team.

 

About You - Skills and Experience

  • A proven history of working alongside a team of engineers but also has the ability to manage a site with minimal input.
  • Extensive experience in civil construction (3 years minimum experience in a similar role)
  • Solid foundation in typical civil works including earthworks, flexible and rigid pavements, buried services and infrastructural, formed structural concrete, landscaping and other unique civil and infrastructure type projects
  • Be competent in understanding, reviewing and working to project Drawings and Specifications
  • A person who is enthusiastic, self-motivated and quality driven with a focus also on cost control
  • Relevant civil background and competencies
  • Excellent communication skills – both oral and written
  • Willingness to lead and motivate team members
  • Commitment and understanding of the importance of time and financial goals
  • Good computer/ mobile device skills for daily use of Programs & Apps (e.g. Procore)
