The HVAC Engineer is responsible for the safe, efficient, and economical operation, maintenance, and repair of the building’s heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems, along with associated mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety equipment. This position operates and maintains all appurtenant equipment driven by air, diesel, gas, water, or other power-developing energy sources.
 

Pay: $44.00 per hour
The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Location: Torrance, Carson and El Segundo, CA  
Company Vehicle will be provided.
up to 25% travel required within these three cities.

Hour: Monday to Friday 7:30AM - 4:30PM

Responsibilities

•    Operate, monitor, and maintain HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, air handling units, cooling towers, pumps, VAV boxes, and building automation/energy management systems in a safe and efficient manner.
•    Patrol, inspect, and maintain all mechanical, HVAC, electrical, piping, and plumbing systems and equipment to ensure the most economical and efficient building operation.
•    Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on HVAC and refrigeration equipment, compressors, and air-conditioning facilities.
•    Respond promptly to tenant service requests and comfort calls, diagnosing and resolving HVAC-related issues.
•    Maintain accurate logs of equipment readings, maintenance activities, and repairs performed.
•    Operate and monitor boilers and refrigeration equipment when on duty, in accordance with Article X of the CBA, ensuring an engineer is on duty at all times such equipment is in operation unless otherwise mutually agreed.
•    Perform minor repairs on toilet facilities, registers, radiators, fixtures, furniture, and floors as needed, provided all work is performed without violating applicable State, County, or City ordinances, codes, or laws.
•    Comply with all applicable Federal, State, and Local safety statutes, including the Employer’s Lockout/Tag-out program (Article XXI – Safety Lockout Program).
•    Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and subcontractors as directed, ensuring work performed complies with the subcontracting provisions of Article I, Section G.
•    Participate in emergency response and call/standby duties as required, including electronic call-back response.
