Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
Lead, mentor, and supervise pipefitting crews to ensure productivity, quality workmanship, and adherence to project schedules.
Clearly communicate work assignments, expectations, and safety requirements to team members.
Work alongside crews as needed to demonstrate proper installation techniques and establish productivity standards.
Foster a positive team environment focused on accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Project Execution
Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, spool sheets, P&IDs, specifications, and mechanical plans.
Plan and coordinate daily work activities to meet project milestones and deadlines.
Layout, install, and oversee the installation of carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, PVC, and other piping systems.
Ensure proper use of supports, hangers, restraints, and installation methods in accordance with project specifications and applicable codes.
Coordinate piping installation with welders, plumbers, inspectors, and other trades.
Resource Management
Ensure all required materials, tools, equipment, drawings, and documentation are available and organized to support efficient workflow.
Monitor manpower requirements and allocate labor resources effectively.
Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
Quality Assurance
Verify that all piping systems are installed according to project specifications, applicable codes, and company standards.
Inspect work for accuracy in measuring, cutting, fitting, alignment, and mechanical joining.
Oversee hydrostatic, pneumatic, and other system testing procedures.
Coordinate inspections and address deficiencies promptly.
Problem Solving & Communication
Identify and resolve installation challenges, conflicts, and field issues.
Communicate project progress, delays, manpower needs, and operational concerns to Superintendents and Project Managers.
Collaborate with customers, vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
Safety Leadership
Enforce all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and jobsite safety requirements.
Conduct and participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and daily briefings.
Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices at all times.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of commercial or industrial pipefitting experience, including 3 years in a leadership or foreman role.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, hydronic, chilled water, heating hot water, process piping, and plumbing systems.
Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, specifications, and construction drawings.
Proficient in measuring, cutting, fitting, aligning, and installing various piping materials.
Experience coordinating with welders, inspectors, and other construction trades.
Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
Ability to manage schedules, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
Solid understanding of piping codes, industry standards, and quality control requirements.
OSHA-30 Certification required (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
NCCER, UA, or other industry-recognized pipefitter certification preferred.
Experience on commercial projects such as schools, hospitals, manufacturing facilities, data centers, and large-scale commercial buildings preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and elevated platforms.
Ability to work in confined spaces and physically demanding construction environments.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching throughout the workday.
