About the role
Accenture Federal Services is seeking an experienced Cloud Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to architect, engineer, and maintain secure cloud-based systems. Working as part of a highly specialized team, you will lead cybersecurity authorization and assessment activities for classified information systems. You will ensure systems comply with federal IA directives, protect data across all classification levels, and meet rigorous security design and Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance standards.
What you’ll own:
- End-to-end security architecture and technical compliance of new and existing cloud-based systems and applications
- Expert-level review and validation of RMF authorization packages and Body of Evidence, including System Security Plans (SSP) and Security Control Traceability Matrices (SCTM)
- Comprehensive security design reviews, threat assessments, and risk assessments for complex classified environments.
What you’ll build and deliver:
- Resilient and secure cloud infrastructure incorporating Identity and Access Management (IAM), encryption, and network security
- Advanced security controls and integrations for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines
- Key technical artifacts including POA&Ms, SCTMs, and Risk Assessment Reports (RARs)
- Robust incident handling procedures, incident response plans, and detailed system security documentation
Here's what you need:
- Relevant Associate's or Bachelor's degree (or 4 years of relevant IT/military experience in lieu of a degree)
- 5 years of experience implementing NIST 800 53 and/or JSIG security controls and driving full RMF lifecycle activities
- 5 years of dedicated experience as an ISSO, ISSM, ISSE, or Cloud Engineer
- 2 years of hands-on experience securing Windows and Linux operating systems
- DoD 8140 compliance (e.g. Security+, CISSP, CASP, etc.)
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with Sentris
- Experience with virtualization or cloud
- Experience working in a modern DevSecOps project environment
- Advanced certifications such as CISSP, Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect/Admin, AWS Certified Security, or other related SIEM/Cloud credentials
- Hands-on experience with ACAS/Nessus scanning and SIEM/Splunk dashboard creation for continuous monitoring
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts plainly to semi-technical customers and interface professionally with government stakeholders
- The ability to lead and collaborate in a matrixed team environment while continuously adapting to emerging technologies and threats
Security Clearance:
- Active Top Secret Clearance, preferred with SCI eligibility and must be willing to undergo a polygraph examination if necessary
As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
