Prestage Farms is seeking a reliable and safety-focused CDL Driver to transport baby turkeys between farms. This is a full-time position that requires flexibility to work early morning hours and travel regularly between farm locations.

This position requires an individual who is comfortable and confident backing commercial vehicles, as drivers will be required to back into every farm location as part of their daily responsibilities. Strong backing skills and the ability to maneuver safely in tight farm environments are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Safety operate a company-provided truck and trailer to transport live turkeys.

• Ensure the well-being of the turkeys during transportation, adhering to all relevant animal welfare regulations.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
• Document and log work/rest periods.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and organized truck and trailer at all times.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. & occasionally up to 100 lbs.

• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
• No recent moving or driving violations.
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc).
• Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations.
• At least one year of actual commercial driving experience.
• Valid Commercial driver license class A.
• Must be 21 years or older.
