Overview
A nationally recognized media platform is entering an exciting new phase of growth and transformation.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a respected publication and content platform as it continues to evolve its voice, expand its influence, and strengthen its position within a rapidly growing category.
We are seeking an Editor-in-Chief to lead the editorial vision, content strategy, and overall content operation across multiple channels.
This is a highly visible leadership role with significant influence and autonomy. You will shape the editorial direction, oversee content production, cultivate a network of contributors and thought leaders, and lead a lean, high-performing team responsible for delivering impactful content across print, digital, video, and emerging formats.
Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will play a critical role in defining how the brand serves its audience, grows its reach, and strengthens its market position.
This role is fully remote with periodic travel for leadership meetings, events, partnerships, and content initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Editorial Vision and Strategy
Define and execute a compelling editorial strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and audience.
Establish a clear editorial voice and content philosophy that consistently delivers valuable, credible, and transformational content.
Oversee editorial planning, content calendars, thematic priorities, and long-term content initiatives.

Ensure content maintains high editorial standards while remaining relevant, engaging, and actionable.
Team Leadership
Lead and develop a high-performing editorial team with a strong player-coach mentality.
Create accountability, encourage innovation, and foster a culture of excellence while remaining closely connected to the content itself.
Support the professional growth and development of writers, editors, and contributors.
Contributor and Thought Leader Network
Build and maintain relationships with authors, coaches, researchers, entrepreneurs, industry experts, and other influential voices aligned with the platform's mission.
Identify and recruit new contributors who can elevate the quality and reach of the content.
Develop partnerships and collaborations that enhance audience engagement and brand authority.
AI-Enabled Editorial Operations
Leverage AI tools to improve editorial workflows, content research, ideation, production efficiency, and audience personalization.
Implement practical, scalable AI solutions that enhance quality and productivity while preserving editorial integrity and authenticity.
Help establish best practices for AI-assisted content operations across the organization.
Brand Representation
Serve as a public-facing representative of the brand through media appearances, interviews, events, partnerships, and content initiatives.
Represent the editorial mission with credibility, thoughtfulness, and authenticity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or a closely related field; advanced degree a plus.
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of professional journalism experience.
- Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience leading editorial teams and managing editorial workflow.
- Significant senior editorial leadership experience within publishing, media, content platforms, or digital publications.
- Experience leading editorial strategy and content operations across multiple content channels.
- Demonstrated success managing editorial teams and contributor networks in fast-paced environments.
- Strong editorial background within one or more of the following areas:

- Hands-on experience integrating AI tools into editorial or publishing workflows.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience serving as Editor-in-Chief, Executive Editor, Editorial Director, Chief Content Officer, or a comparable senior editorial leader.
- Existing relationships with recognized thought leaders, authors, coaches, researchers, and practitioners.
- Experience building editorial operations within lean, high-output environments.
- On-camera experience and comfort representing a brand publicly.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong understanding of audience growth, brand development, and business objectives.
Benefits
Base Salary: $150,000 to $180,000 depending on experience
