About the role

Peter Lucas Project Management Inc.

Peter Lucas Project Management invests in people, community, and cutting-edge technology to provide gold standard project delivery. We are currently looking for an Operational Reliability Project Engineer to join our team.

At Peter Lucas, we offer a variety of work, professional development, and learning opportunities that come from working on diverse projects in the mining, energy, and heavy industrial sectors. Our dynamic environment, filled with high-achieving professionals, enables our staff to take on incredible opportunities, gain mentorship from a diverse group of colleagues, and succeed in their careers.

The Operational Reliability Project Engineer is to join our team in Blind River, Ontario, in a full-time, on-site Monday–Friday role. This position thrives in complex, fast-moving industrial environments where clarity must be created from ambiguity and execution is what drives success.

The successful candidate will be a resilient, results-driven engineer who can cut through bureaucracy, align stakeholders, and confidently manage challenging relationships to keep critical work progressing. You will take full ownership of project delivery across cost, schedule, scope, quality, and HSE, demonstrating strong accountability and the ability to deliver outcomes with minimal oversight in a dynamic operational setting.

In this role, you will manage a focused portfolio of reliability improvement initiatives at various stages of development—from early concept and framing through to detailed execution and implementation. Your work will directly support improvements in asset performance, risk reduction, and maintenance strategy optimization.

This position is heavily centred on the identification, prioritization, and execution of reliability-driven projects, working closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure alignment with site and program objectives.

In addition to reliability initiatives, you will also support non-routine maintenance (NRM) projects, including engineering and execution activities such as:

  • Equipment selection and specification
  • Work planning and execution support
  • Commissioning and start-up activities
  • Drawing revisions and updates
  • Maintenance strategy and plan development

All work must be completed in accordance with site standards, engineering governance, and applicable Management of Change (MoC) processes.
