About the role
Our mission at Greenhouse is to make hiring work for everyone – so we go to great lengths to hire great people because we believe that they’re the foundation of our success. At Greenhouse, you’ll join a team that collaborates purposefully, fosters inclusivity, and communicates with transparency and accountability so we can achieve our mission.
Join us to do the best work of your career, solving meaningful problems with remarkable teams.
This is an independent contractor engagement in Argentina. Deel will serve as Contractor of Record and will contract with and pay the independent contractor. The independent contractor will provide services to Greenhouse on a non-exclusive basis, may provide services to other clients, and will be responsible for determining the manner and means of performing the services, subject to the applicable statement of work and agreed deliverables. This engagement is not an employment relationship with Greenhouse. No employment relationship, social benefits, or labor entitlements under Argentine Law 20,744 are created by this engagement.
Through this arrangement, Deel is hiring an independent contractor to provide services to the Enterprise Apps team at Greenhouse.
EA's charter is to take toil off every other team in the company so they can focus on the work only they can do. In 2026, we're using that charter to build something more ambitious: an AI-native operating layer for Greenhouse, with internal tooling, agents, skills, and automations that any team can build on, deploy to, and run against Greenhouse's data and tools. We're early enough in the work that the team will help shape what the platform actually becomes.
This is a specialized engineering engagement focused on the design, delivery, and architecture of EA’s internal developer platform. In this role, you will focus on building the self-service interfaces and SDKs that enable both technical and non-technical stakeholders across Greenhouse to deploy and run AI agents. Rather than just maintaining infrastructure pipelines, your services will center on reducing technical friction and enhancing developer velocity by provisioning highly scalable, reliable, and abstracted platform components.
This role will support the development and maintenance of the Company’s web-based applications as part of an approximately 12-month engagement. In this role, you will focus on high-quality feature execution and technical reliability across the application stack for the Company
This is a collaborative, execution-focused, non-exclusive engagement. Services will include design, development, and delivery of platform infrastructure as scoped with the EA team.
Contract & location details
- Contract duration: Approximately 12 months
- Engagement type: A non-exclusive contract role engaged through a Contractor of Record (COR) via Deel in Argentina
- Location: Argentina (remote)
- Working model: Collaboration with a distributed, US & Canada-based team with reasonable availability for coordination with Greenhouse stakeholders
Who will love this job
- A platform builder – you excel at creating tools, infrastructure architectures, and systems that help other engineers move faster and build with confidence.
- A force multiplier – you think beyond one-off fixes and look for architectural investments that unlock impact across multiple workflows.
- A reliability-minded engineer – you care about the systemic foundations that make production environments trustworthy, from deployment automation and security to observability and incident response.
- An AI systems pragmatist – you’re familiar with the potential of agents and automations, but equally focused on the evaluation and telemetry frameworks needed to use them responsibly in workflows.
- A close partner – you enjoy collaborating directly with engineers to understand engineering workflows, shaping platform interfaces around real-world application needs.
What you’ll do
- Contribute to building and designing the self-service platform that lets stakeholders across Greenhouse build, deploy, and run their own agents and automations against Greenhouse's data and tools.
- Architect and build self-service infrastructure frameworks that allow application engineers to provision runtime, deployment, and observability stacks independently.
- Codify and abstract EA's AWS footprint (networking, IAM, secrets) into highly reusable infrastructure-as-code modules or internal APIs.
- Build and implement the evaluation frameworks and observability practices required to securely run AI systems in production workflows.
- Evaluate ecosystem needs holistically across the business to spot and execute platform investments that scale across multiple technical teams.
- Align architectural deliverables with EA's application workflows to ensure the platform integrates cleanly with shipping requirements.
- At Greenhouse's request, provide technical escalation availability during agreed windows for core platform infrastructure support.
You should have
- 5+ years as a software engineer shipping production services, including building something other engineers actually used: a platform, SDK, framework, internal tool, or API.
- A proven track record of treating infrastructure as an internal product—building SDKs, frameworks, or developer tools that other engineers rely on daily.
- Strong Software Engineering fundamentals in Python or TypeScript, with a high degree of comfort designing clean APIs and developer-facing abstractions.
- Real, hands-on cloud experience. You have operated production services on AWS or GCP end to end (compute, networking, IAM, secrets, deployment automation, Terraform), as the person responsible for an environment, not just a consumer of one.
- Strong technical instincts regarding the evaluation and telemetry of non-deterministic systems (LLMs/Agents).
- A developer-experience (DX) mindset: experience gathering engineering feedback on technical specifications, analyzing internal workflows, and iterating on platform design based on system usage data.
- Production security fundamentals: secrets management, OAuth/OIDC, least-privilege architectures, and dependency hygiene.
