IBMC is assisting a client in hiring a vital regional sales leader. Our client is an established consumer finance and licensed lending provider dedicated to optimizing retail distribution networks and credit solutions across Southeast Asia. Powering market penetration and offline sales growth, they are building out an elite, highly competitive commercial footprint across key regional hubs.
We are seeking a highly proactive, resilient, and results-oriented City Sales Manager (Kalimantan) to build, manage, and scale local retail distribution channels. Based permanently on-site in Pontianak, this is a deeply market-driven leadership role that blends offline team building, channel expansion, and operational execution. Your goal is to run all local business operations—spanning sales, marketing, and customer service—to aggressively drive revenue growth and expand channel coverage across retail networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Building & Management: Recruit, onboard, train, and manage the city sales team to ensure high performance and operational efficiency.
- Talent Pipeline: Identify and develop sales management talent to build a sustainable leadership pipeline.
- Operations Oversight: Oversee all local business operations, covering sales, marketing, and customer service.
- Strategy Execution: Develop and execute city-level sales strategies to drive revenue growth and meet targets.
- Channel Expansion: Expand channel coverage across telecommunications, digital, and home-appliance retail networks.
- Metric Monitoring: Improve overall team productivity and monitor key operational metrics.
- Data Security & Care: Ensure accuracy and security of customer data and sales records at all times.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with key retail partners and clients, resolving customer issues promptly to improve satisfaction and retention rates.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree or above; candidates with strong relevant experience may be considered with a lower degree qualification.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of retail operations experience at a supervisory level or above, with a strong preference for experience in offline consumer finance companies.
Team Leadership: Proven experience managing sales or operations teams of 20 or more people.
Local Resources: Strong existing local channel resources in telecommunications, digital products, or home appliances in Kalimantan.
Leadership Capabilities: Strong leadership and organizational capabilities with a track record of driving team results.
Communication & Language: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable operating in a competitive environment. Proficiency in Mandarin or English is preferred.
Mobility & Mindset: Proactive, resilient under pressure, and a collaborative team player. Willingness to be deployed across different cities as required, with possession of personal transportation (car or motorcycle) preferred.
Presence: Must be fully open to a permanent, on-site position located in Pontianak, Indonesia.

- Deep familiarity with the commercial and geographical landscape of Pontianak and surrounding West Kalimantan regions.
- Prior experience scaling consumer loan points-of-sale (POS) inside major electronic or smartphone chain stores.
