Location: Mesa and Gilbert, Arizona

Practice Model: 100% Elective Spine Surgery | No Trauma | No ER Coverage
Travel: Local coverage between practice locations only
Position Summary
A physician-owned orthopedic group in the East Valley is seeking a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Spine Surgeon to join its established surgical team. This full-time opportunity offers a highly focused elective spine practice with no trauma call, no emergency room coverage, and the support needed to build a thriving surgical program.
The incoming surgeon will serve as the dedicated spine specialist for the practice, covering two established locations in Mesa and Gilbert. The service is supported by two experienced Physician Assistants already assigned to spine care, helping streamline clinic flow, patient management, surgical coordination, and post-operative follow-up.
With on-site imaging, physical therapy, established referral relationships, and guaranteed operating room access, this position is ideal for a surgeon seeking clinical autonomy, predictable case volume, and a long-term private practice opportunity.
Clinical Structure
- Spine Surgeons: 1
- Dedicated APP Support: 2 Physician Assistants assigned to the spine service
- Clinic Days: 2 per week
- Surgery Days: 2–3 per week with guaranteed block OR time
- Coverage Locations: Mesa and Gilbert
- Call: 1:3, limited to your own patient panel and supported by APPs
- Environment: Private orthopedic group with in-house diagnostics, rehabilitation, imaging, and administrative support
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $400,000 – $650,000 (based on experience)
Incentives: RVU-based bonus structure

Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage spinal pathologies, including degenerative, deformity, and structural conditions
- Perform elective spine procedures including fusions, discectomies, decompressions, and minimally invasive techniques
- Lead pre-operative and post-operative patient management
- Collaborate with dedicated PAs, therapists, and rehabilitation staff to optimize outcomes
- Provide care across the practice's Mesa and Gilbert locations
- Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and surgical outcomes within the EMR
- Participate in quality improvement and service line growth initiatives
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered orthopedic spine care
Candidate Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited U.S. medical school
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency
- Fellowship training in Spine Surgery required
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
- Eligible for Arizona medical licensure
- Experience with elective spine procedures and minimally invasive techniques preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, and collaborative skills
