Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Surgical Technologist II – Main OR for a top healthcare client in Roanoke, VA.

This opportunity allows you to join a renowned surgical team that handles a broad range of complex procedures in a high-acuity, collaborative environment. The Surgical Technologist II will work alongside skilled surgeons and nurses to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of surgical care, maintaining the highest standards of sterile technique and patient safety.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain sterile fields, ensuring surgical instruments and supplies are correctly arranged.
  • Assist surgeons and nurses during operative procedures by anticipating needs and providing required instruments.
  • Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety standards in the operating room.
  • Perform surgical counts (sponges, needles, instruments) according to established policy.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to provide seamless, patient-centered perioperative care.
  • Support departmental education initiatives and ongoing skills development.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required.

Requirements

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program.
  • Holds a current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (or equivalent).
  • Military surgical technologist program graduates are also eligible.

Experience

  • No prior experience required; training and structured orientation are provided.

Certifications/Licenses

  • Certification in Surgical Technology required.
  • AHA BLS-HCP certification required.
  • Must register with the Virginia Department of Health Professions.

Skills or Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile field management.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
