Role Overview 

The Shredder Machine Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial shredding equipment used in recycling, waste management, or manufacturing environments. The technician ensures the machines operate efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and maintaining optimal productivity. 

 

Key Responsibilities  

 

Machine Installation & Setup  

  • Install and commission new shredding equipment according to manufacturer specifications.  
  • Perform alignment, calibration, and testing to ensure proper functionality.  

 

Routine Maintenance  

  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance to extend equipment lifespan.  
  • Replace worn or damaged parts such as blades, motors, and belts.  
  • Lubricate moving parts and ensure all systems are operating smoothly.  

 

Troubleshooting & Repairs  

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.  
  • Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to identify root causes.  
  • Perform repairs and verify operational efficiency after servicing.  

 

Safety & Compliance  

  • Adhere to safety protocols and company regulations.  
  • Maintain logs of service activities, inspections, and parts usage.  
  • Ensure all repairs comply with manufacturer and safety standards.  

 

Documentation & Reporting  

  • Keep accurate records of maintenance schedules and repair history.  
  • Report recurring issues or equipment failures to supervisors or engineers.  
  • Recommend improvements or upgrades to enhance machine performance.  

 

Collaboration  

  • Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Safety teams.  
  • Train Machine Operators on proper machine use and minor maintenance.  

 

Requirements 

 

Professional Experience 

  • Proven experience with Industrial Machinery, preferably shredders or similar equipment.  

 

Academic Background & Qualifications 

  • Technical Diploma or vocational training in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance.  

 

Languages & Technical Capabilities 

  • Fluency in Greek and English, both written and spoken. 
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with MS Office. 

 

Skills 

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.  
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and basic electrical circuits.  
  • Ability to read technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
