Warehouse Intern — M-KOPA

You're at the start of something. Make sure it counts.

Not every career-defining moment comes with a big title. Some come in the form of a warehouse floor, a smartphone in your hands, and the quiet realisation that the work you're doing today is connecting millions of people to something they've never had before — financial access.

That's the reality of an internship at M-KOPA.

What M-KOPA is building — and why now

M-KOPA is one of Africa's fastest-growing fintechs, built on a simple but powerful idea: that access to credit and financial tools shouldn't be reserved for the few. Today, over 7 million customers across the continent are living proof that it works — with $2 billion in credit unlocked, 86% reporting an improved quality of life, and 55% accessing formal financial services for the very first time.

We're not slowing down. The journey from 5 million to 7 million customers happened fast. The road to 10 million is already underway — and the people joining us now will be part of building the infrastructure that gets us there.

That includes our warehouse operations team in Ghana.

Why this internship is different

Most internships give you coffee runs and observation time. This one gives you real work with real consequences.

As a Warehouse Intern supporting our Refurbished for Sale (RFS) operations, you'll be hands-on with the devices that go directly into customers' hands — PAYGO mobile phones that, for many people, represent their first connection to mobile financial services. Your attention to detail, your care at the workstation, your accuracy in the system — all of it feeds directly into the customer experience that 7 million people rely on.

This isn't busywork. It's the operational backbone of financial inclusion.

What your days will actually look like

You'll work alongside the warehouse team preparing and processing mobile devices through the RFS pipeline — setting up phones, completing quality checks, ensuring every device meets M-KOPA's standards before it reaches a customer. You'll handle inventory movement and storage, making sure devices are where they're supposed to be and accounted for in our internal systems.

You'll also play a real role in maintaining the safety and organisation of the warehouse environment — keeping your workstation clean and orderly, flagging any hazards or equipment issues, and contributing to a workspace where the whole team can operate at their best.

It's structured. It's detail-oriented. And it will teach you more about how a high-growth operational environment actually functions than any classroom could.

What we're looking for

  • A Senior High School (SHS) Certificate or equivalent, with basic computer literacy and comfort using smartphones and mobile devices.

  • Someone who shows up with a willingness to learn, take direction, and take ownership of the small things — because in a warehouse, the small things matter enormously.

  • An eye for detail and a team-first attitude that keeps quality and safety front of mind every single day.

No prior work experience is required. If you've had any exposure to a warehouse environment, volunteer work, or a previous internship, that's a bonus — but it's not the bar.

A reality check (and a reason to be excited)

Warehouse work is physical, repetitive at times, and demands consistency. You'll be on your feet. You'll be accountable to a team. You'll be expected to show up the same way on your last day as your first.

If that sounds like the kind of environment where you grow — you're probably right.

The people who thrive in our warehouse internships tend to share one thing: they take their work seriously even when nobody's watching. That's not a soft skill. That's the foundation of a career.

Why M-KOPA
