Project

The Woodfibre LNG Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of an LNG export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, with storage capacity of approximately 250,000 m³ and production of approximately 2.1 million tonnes per year of LNG.

Woodfibre Management Ltd. is a privately held Canadian company based in Vancouver and a subsidiary of Pacific Energy Corporation Limited.

 

Position

Reporting to the Director, Health, Safety & Security (HSS), the Corporate HSS Business Analyst will support the HSS department in planning work, tracking performance, managing information, and using data to identify and manage HSS risks.

 

This is an early career role suited to someone with strong business analytics, data science, project coordination, reporting, and performance management capability. Direct HSS experience is an asset. The successful candidate will leverage their advanced data analytics and visualization knowledge, and strong project coordination skills, to facilitate the effective identification, assessment, control and monitoring of the Company’s HSS hazards and risks.

 

Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will:

  • Coordinate HSS department work plans, priorities, deliverables, meetings, and reporting cycles.
  • Compile, validate, and organize HSS data for routine reporting, leadership updates, dashboards, and contractor performance reviews.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve HSS dashboards and reports
  • Support reporting on incidents, observations, inspections, audits, corrective actions, training, assurance activities, and HSS deliverables.
  • Assist with maintaining HSS management system documents, registers, compliance trackers, training matrices, communication plans, and assurance schedules.
  • Analyze HSS data to identify trends, recurring issues, overdue actions, data quality gaps, and emerging areas of risk.
  • Assist with HSS communications, awareness materials, presentations, briefing packages, and training reports.
  • Support emergency response planning, training, exercise tracking, readiness reporting, and action closure.
  • Track and report actions arising from Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee meetings, inspections, worker concerns, incident reviews, audits, and regulatory or leadership reviews.
  • Build effective working relationships with HSS team members, management teams, field operations, contractors, and other functional groups.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

Required Experience:

  • A degree, diploma, certificate, or equivalent experience in business analytics, data science, occupational health and safety, engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency with Power BI, including dashboard development and data governance, modelling, and visualization.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Exce

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong ability to influence, coach and mentor others regarding HSSE responsibilities
  • Ability to organize complex information into intuitive reports
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities within tight time frames.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Teams, and SharePoint.
