ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Staff Accountant / Accounting Manager to join our Atlanta Home Theater team! This position is full-time and will be based out of the AHT home office in Roswell, GA.
Responsibilities
Record and review daily accounting transactions and journal entries.
Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.
Manage customer billing, accounts receivable, and collections activities.
Process accounts payable and vendor payments.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and all balance sheet accounts.
Reconcile subledgers to the general ledger and investigate discrepancies.
Track and report project costs and profitability.
Prepare monthly draft financial statements and supporting schedules.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
Support external auditors, lenders, and management with financial information requests.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting.
Requirements
Education & Years of Experience – Associate’s degree with 4+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation.
Experience with reconciliations, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and project costing.
Ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of independently managing the accounting function for a small business.
Have a good understanding of the relationship between subledgers, the general ledger, and financial reporting, and take pride in producing accurate and timely financial information.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Sage Intacct would be ideal).
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Desired Skills
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience with QuickBooks, Sage, Deltek, or similar accounting systems.
Experience in a project-based construction, or service-oriented business environment.
