ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Staff Accountant / Accounting Manager to join our Atlanta Home Theater team! This position is full-time and will be based out of the AHT home office in Roswell, GA.

Responsibilities

• Record and review daily accounting transactions and journal entries.

• Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.

• Manage customer billing, accounts receivable, and collections activities.

• Process accounts payable and vendor payments.

• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and all balance sheet accounts.

• Reconcile subledgers to the general ledger and investigate discrepancies.

• Track and report project costs and profitability.

• Prepare monthly draft financial statements and supporting schedules.

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.

• Support external auditors, lenders, and management with financial information requests.

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting.

Requirements

• Education & Years of Experience – Associate’s degree with 4+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.

• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation.

• Experience with reconciliations, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and project costing.

• Ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of independently managing the accounting function for a small business.

• Have a good understanding of the relationship between subledgers, the general ledger, and financial reporting, and take pride in producing accurate and timely financial information.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Sage Intacct would be ideal).

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Desired Skills

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Experience with QuickBooks, Sage, Deltek, or similar accounting systems.

• Experience in a project-based construction, or service-oriented business environment.
