About the role
• Create a positive customer experience by completing calls correctly the first time with quality and care to applicable codes and to Hiller standards to avoid refunds and recalls ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Assist in adjusting, repairing, and replacing sewage and sump pumps.
• Assist in completing all plumbing service calls to applicable codes.
• Assist in thorough and accurate plumbing inspection including Health & Safety Checklist and communicate findings and recommendations to the client in a written option sheet.
• Assist in repair of drain, sewer, and water lines.
• Assist in the completion of all required documentation on services including checklist, collecting, and delivery to office administration.
• Assist with safely operating all types of drain cleaning and inspection equipment (i.e., 1/4, 3/8, and 5/8 drain cleaning machines, hydro jetting equipment, sewer and drain inspection cameras).
• Follow state laws and regulations and adhere to local building codes.
• Inform a technician, team lead, supervisor, or manager when the customer does not have water, hot water, or non-working waste line(s) before leaving the call.
• Inform technician, team lead, supervisor, or manager of any safety issues.
• Keep truck clean, stocked and accurately inventoried.
• Protect customer’s home from damage while working and leave customer’s home cleaner than when you arrived.
• Transport materials and tools to the job site and provide proper accounting of assigned tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
• A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Two years’ experience preferred but not required in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and correcting diverse plumbing service issues.
• Graduate of Total Tech or other plumbing training school.
• A valid driver’s license and approved to drive by the Company’s insurance carrier.
• Must be highly organized with good attention to detail and follow through.
• Possess good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
• Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations.
• Team player working in a team environment.
• Work in outdoor elements with extreme variation in temperatures and weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) at least 50% of the time.
• Climb ladders and steep stairs.
• The majority of time is spent standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and reaching.
• Often works in tight spaces such as attics and / or crawlspaces.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds with ability to push, pull, carry, or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices).
• Occasionally work from heights 15 feet or higher above ground.
• Carry a 24-foot extension ladder alone and/or a 40-foot extension ladder with a fellow co-worker on most jobs.
• Have good visual acuity.
